i have been hearing good feedbacks for Twilight..however,i have not yet motivated myself to seeing this movie. Unlike Harry Potter,i've watched each movie religeously..maybe because i've loved the books right from the start that had eventually made me loved the HP movies too.. for those who have seen both of the movies, can u give me an idea,at least, which is better? maybe your help could make me change my mind and buy the twilight dvd the soonest, hehe!

It's pretty hard to compare both movies because they really belongs to two different genre. Even though they are both based on books originally written for young adults, that is the only similarity. Harry Potter is more of an adventure, following the life of the young wizard as he battles against the evil Voldermort while growing into manhood and all the challenges that entails. Twilight is a teenage romance between a young girl and a century old vampire who looks seventeen. Even though there is some action in the latter part of the movie, it focuses primarily on the budding relationship between the two. So, it really depends upon you and what is your taste in movies. If you are eclectic like me, I'll watch both. I'm a big Harry Potter fan, and I've read all the Twilight books. I think the Twilight book is decent, but if you are not into cheesy, romantic stuff, then maybe it won't be for you. I did watch it, and enjoyed it for what it is. Just a fun movie, no Oscar-winning performance, with screaming teenagers in the background (LOL), but the 2-hours flew fast, so I guess, I was entertained. It does help if you read the book though. Make a few things clearer and understable; just don't get too mad if the movie did not though everything by-the-book, but then movies rarely though..even our beloved HP movies don't.

they are both fine...ive seen the first two harry potter movies..havent seen the third one which was directed by no less that alfonso cuaron...have watched twilight and i have been entertained because i want more after 2 hours of it...they say that the book is a lot better...the movie has many flaws and a bit lacking but overall it is compensates for its flaws in the other departments like casting, production design, cinematography, stunts and has many outstanding visual effects that you will really be entertained..well..harry potter does have outstanding scenes too...still..they cant be totally compared..if there is one important thing that can be considered though is that LOL the twilight lead actor is a lot more interesting looking than harry potter the actor..LOL...robert pattinson simply outshines daniel radcliffe in the looks department..acting wise they are at par with each other...

Good points, tabachi. Furthermore, we need to remember that Twilight was released by a smaller company while Harry Potter has the big bucks of Warner Bros behind it. So yes, quality depending on budgetary constrainst was quite obvious.

yeah, i could agree with the other one that says they're both different genres..but I just couldn't help preferring twilight. it has more of a sensible, realistic story? hey, no offense to harry potter but i'm just not into so much magic there. especially with kids. lols. btw, i watched the movie first without not much an idea of it (although i already knew it was a vampire movie). then i started craving for the books. you better read twilight girl, it's very lovely (haha what a corny way to describe it). It's one of a kind, not anne rice but not your sweet valley high =)

Hands down Harry Potter. Twilight has a limited market than Harry Potter. =) I went to see the movie out of curiosity but then i didn't really like the movie in its entirety. I never read the books so i guess that also failed to hook me into the series. I wrote a movie review of Twilight. =) You can read it at the link below, maybe it will help you decide to watch it or not: http://www.cinemaroll.com/Cinemarolling/Twilight-is-Indeed-Meant-for-Teens.384463
