I have seen band/singer(s) who only sing cover songs from different artists. You know, revive old songs using their own style but never composed even a single song in their entire music carrier. I can hear them on the radio and see them on television. And they became so popular with the songs they didn't actually made. I just don't believe an artist can't express themselves through writing their own song and play/sing it by themselves.

Look at it this way: They actually are helping the people that wrote the song to make money. Many songwriters are great writers but terrible singers. So, if someone decides to sing their songs, they can still make a living from their art. Also, even really old songs that get modernized, the writer will earn money

that's rather an unfair generalization. an artist in the music industry can have a specific specialization or talent. perhaps you can try to appreciate singers and songwriters separately, because it is extremely rare and difficult to be good in both composing songs and interpreting songs by singing. but of course, i agree with you that some of the bands right now do not give justice to old pieces; they simply sing old songs like they were sung decades before and compile those into an album. i think that they should work harder and prove that their version of the song is worth listening to.
