Ciao now have new bulletin telling that now they will not pay per review.
The $0.25 per review incentive is gone,
They just have a $10 first place and $5 second place prize.
They just distributing $2,000 USD to the writers of the best reviews on Ciao each month – about 800 reviews will be considered.
Why they remove the pay per review payment?
How can we earn at Ciao now?
What do you think why this things happen?

Well Ciao was nice while it lasted. When I first joined they were paying $1 per review. I even stuck with them when they dropped it down to 0.25 per review. But now I will no longer participate in their site. I will write my reviews for Associated Content who will actually pay me for my time and efforts in my writing. I think Ciao made a huge mistake.

I am so diasappointed too.. Could you give my some details about Associated Content? Can I join from Hungary? I think ciao did it becouse of the amount of cheating and copy pastes.. I admit that this was a great problem but I would solve it in another way.. i am a bit depressed now.. I have-not written so many reviews so far on ciao, I wanted to be honest.. its gone..

Probably ciao has now grown with sufficient number of members and concentrating on quality writing.
You must have noticed that some review posting Ciao is very silly and funny. Probably new payment policy will discourse those writing poor quality article, it will be also incentive for others to and good writers will competing bigger money.

I also observed that on some reviews in ciao. I have seen reviews that are made without even using the real product. They just give their impression on the product and their observations as the product was used by others.

I have no idea why ciao changed the payment system this way, are they going to promote better quality of reviews? I am wondering how they are going to choose the best reviews, based on what criteria. I am not sure about the pay per rate stuff, they didn't mention whether they are continue paying for the rating.

I'm so sorry for coming in so late. I also wanted to join ciao, but now I have to rethink. At least we should be paid back for our time, effort and our office expenses like internet connection, power, computer etc. By the way, any nw development so far ? Thanks.

I never did join the site because I live in Canada and a long time ago they weren't
accepting people from Canada. Then they started letting Canadians join but only by
invitation. So I managed to get invited a couple times from mylot members but for some
reason I just never did join it. I am not great at writing so that is why I didn't
join. Now I am glad that I didn't as I have read a lot of your responses to this
discussion and it seems it has made a lot of their members mad.
I am sorry to hear about this because it seems that a lot of the members loved the
site before and a lot of them are now not liking it much and are going to stop working
it. Too bad. Maybe they will change it back when they see that a lot of the members
are being active anymore. Hope so, for your sake my friend.
Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend,
Have a good mylotting day, Chris

I think the incentive they come up with is quite difficult to reach for me. I dont think my english is proper enough for that. Ciao say they will give other incentives as well. We should check out their announcements nowadays.. I think I stop writing for a few days.. Quite os a shock it is for me...
Well, I have much more time for mylotting instead..lol

Ciao is like every other website out there that would rather have the cash in their pockets. Are they going to at least pay out what people have already earned or are they going to turn out like NetWinner and Boomertowne? Sounds like they are heading that way to me. Sorry to here this.

It's not surprising at all. It's not profitable for them to pay us so much. Also, most of the reviews are actually of sub-standard. Many members are only writing for the sake of money.
They are not paying for every reviews.
For Ciao, paying for the best reviews definitely makes more sense.
For us, it's no good but well, I guess it's only fair for them to do so.

I was surprised to hear this since I have not been on ciao for a few days. I only joined there a little over a month ago and shortly after I did, they lowered the pay from $1 per review to $0.25 and now they are taking that away. Well, it looks like it is going to be harder to make any money there since they are only going to consider 800 reviews. There are many more members there and how often do you think yours will be considered. They will be making money off our reviews and not paying us anything, only the top reviews. I may give it a try, but am not too sure if I will be sticking around for that.

The new earning policy enforced by CIAO is within their descrition to decide which is appropriate whether or not it may be beneficial to the company or both. We have nothing to do with it. It now depends to the member if such member will continue to participate with the community's activity. Although the fee of $0.25/review was gone yet, I noticed that every activity you have participated has been recorded and it also accumulate an earning. Members who are still active in CIAO have to wait how the earning policy works including its new updates.

Well it seems that even ciao is is not spared on the crises we are all experiencing. They do need to cut back on paying and of course to prevent people from doing scams on them but still I don't get it. Ciao, although a good earning site is always biased, I have seen nonsense reviews but with ratings such as very helpful. SO if they would push through on their rewards program they should make sure that their criteria for the reward is not by the rates it received.

It's simply a business decision. They have to remain profitable in order to pay anyone any amount of money. I'm sure they did this to weed out all of the 4 to 5 liner review writers that just put together anything just to be able to hit the 150 word limit to get credit for it.
It was great while it lasted, I only wrote 1 review in November. I've only written a total of $27 reviews, and have gotten paid a total of $27 + $34 and I'm waiting to get paid again in the amount of $8.
I'm enjoyed it up till now. I'm going to wait until all of the people who were just writing rubbish to leave and wait until they offer the real writers other incentives to improve the quality of the site.

What? I'm planning to signup in Ciao, but what happen they change their TOS? Well if that is so I change my mind.
I will just check it from other reviews of what happen to Ciao. Maybe there are alot of reviews there that are have similarities from each others, it can not avoided that there are reviews with the same observation of what they thought about a certain products, so now its difficult to earn their..

I think since the global economy goes worse, therefore, it will have an effect on Ciao. Especially USD0.25 for per review isn't bad at all. So Ciao can't afford it at last so that they will have this new rule. I am very disappointed to it as I am starting to be active in Ciao for these few days.
I love China

Well, this is very sad news. It is somewhat frustrating considering that they have just lowered the payment from $1 to $.25 previously. Now its no more. I think many members will surely be discourage to submit reviews already considering that only those who are really good in making reviews will have the opportunity to earn. I have not visited the site for two weeks since I have been busy traveling/work. Upon reading your post, I checked out the site. Such a sad news indeed.

WOW~~I know this news from you just now and I had checked the site. yes you are right that the 0.25$ per review has gone. But My earnings still added today so I don't know if I could be paid the next month.I think some members would leave the site.

well, i'm still confused how this new system works.. i hope they would still pay the reviewers for the effort they've made.. maybe the reason why they've changed the rules is because of the scammers who have been exploiting the kindness of ciao.. i guess the scammers should be the ones to get punished for this..

I myself don't know correctly but everyone here in ciao is telling like that.....myself too i felt my earning is bit reduced comparing too before, may be they are doing this because now lots of members are there and some of them started to copy others experience and looks fact.
