At what age would you allow your daughter to wear lipstick?

At what age do you think it would be appropriate for your daughter to begin wearing lipstick. I think my daughter was probably 12 year old when she started wearing some of the colored lip glosses. I saw a little girl today about 9 or 10 years old today with full makeup on, mascara, eyeliner, blush, red lipstick. She looked just like a miniature adult. I think that was a little young. This child had her nose and lip pierced. What do you think is an appropriate age to start wearing makeup and lipstick?

My dear, I feel really guily on this account. My mother seldom wore lipstick as she was the very rare of the natural beauties. So, she never had lipstick on the dressing table for me and my sister to emulate. My first lipstick was at the age of twenty five while I was at the hostel to earn my doctorate. However, while at job, I have to daily apply lipstick and go to the office. My three year old daughter applies lipstick if I ever leave accidentally. She is so perfect wither pout that my motherin lawreally enjoysthe scene and asks me not to scold her much.

I started to wear lipstick when I got my saturday job in town at 14 years old when I could buy my own ,but that was to many years ago to remember and it was different day.The girl next door to me is thirteen and looks like about twenty when she goes out,I think it depends a little bit is fun to much is tarty at any agee.My daughter was a tomboy and they did not have anything like that when she was a girl, but I suppose about fourteen she used to pinch mine but only on special occasions and then she wiped it all off by the time she left the house.

Thank you for your response, suzzy3. That sounds like the way my daughter used to do. She would put the make up on when she was about 12 years old and if I did not scold her she would go and wash it off. But, if I argued with her about it she would have a tantrum wanting to wear it. It took me few episodes before I caught on and sometimes I would just pretend that I did not see her. Then the make up was washed off before leaving for school. Have a nice day.
