Hasn't MVP been punished enough?

We all know he's been jobbing ever since September or August. (Supposedly because he got upset when he was being tested for a urine sample.) He's jobbed out to Jeff and Matt Hardy, Triple H, Kung Fu Naki,The Great Khali, some no-name wrestler a couple of weeks ago and now, Hurricane Helms. This storyline he's in needs to end. MVP constantly puts on good matches and should be in the main-event picture. Vince, this joke you've made MVP into is not funny.

I forget where I read this but something about making sure he's not going to bail out like Bobby Lashley or Brock Lesnar when they got super huge pushes to the top. It will come to an end though and it's a mystery as to when exactly. I'm sure they'll push him much more. Funaki is the worst one to do the job do considering he's always been more of a jobber.

True. I think they'll do much more with him than Kanyon though. Don't really understand what happened with Kanyon in WWE though it's really something that I don't think anyone really knows. Don't know if it had anything to do with him being a WCW guy but who knows. An MVP/Kennedy feud should be interesting to watch though.

Yeah, Kanyon was pretty much relegated to Velocity when he returned in 2003. (He also got to job to Funaki.) At least MVP is being featured on Smackdown.

Interesting. Yeah, I got the impression that those guys (especially Brock) got kind of a big head over their "mega-pushes" from what I've read on insider sites. Now, it appears they're setting him up to feud with Mr. Kennedy when he comes back in a couple of months. It should be interesting. Yeah, you know you've hit rock bottom when you're jobbing to Funaki. MVP is basically getting the Kanyon treatment right now. (Another talented star I felt WWE wasted.)

I'm losing interest in MVP, my kids call him Monkey Von Porter because they think his act is old and tired. I knew that he was on the chopping block because of his tude with the staff of the WWE. All of his matches seem to be him giving 50%, he doesn't do anything for me.

Do you have any links to back up that claim that he's on the chopping block and that he has a bad attitude? Also, if you don't think he puts on good matches, you must not have any taste in good wrestling. Oh, and that "Monkey Von Porter" nickname your kids gave him is beyond lame.

No, that's where you're wrong. MVP is a good wrestler. He just isn't offered enough of a chance to showcase his skills. So, because I say MVP is a good wrestler and disagree with you on that matter, that makes me uncool? Ok, whatever. Don't worry. I'm not going to be losing sleep about you not responding to my discussions.

You know, I thought you were cool to post some stuff about WWE, but your comment about him being a good wrestler is wrong. My kids made up that name because MVP is not a good wrestler, he doesn't have any good moves either. I won't be answering anymore of your WWE posts.

You should know with the WWE, they ALWAYS go to far with storylines, last year I was so annoyed with the Hornswaggle storyline that I made a debate on Squidoo about it ( http://www.squidoo.com/wwestorylines ). I think this storyline has still got a long time to go, it sucks I know, but with MVP's attitude a lot of wrestling fans will think that he has had it coming.

The only wrestling fans that will think that of MVP are the ones that think he really is that character in real life. I've read he's pretty nice in real life.

It is his character that is being punished not his real life. All baddie characters deserve punishment tbh.

Well, I like a lot of the heels and MVP could be a great Main-event level heel. He's still apparently being punished for getting upset at a urine tester. As good of a heel that Edge is, the whole thing with Vickie has gotten old. Hopefully, MVP will get his time.

Heh, I had to laugh when even MVC beat him the other night, you know, the Haus impersonation of MVP. We were certain that maybe it was time that he would win finally...but nope, even Haus gets a win once in a while. I think they'll play this out until he's about to be out on the streets or something, lol. I ain't gonna lie, he's got some moves, and it's so obvious that he's playing weak and stupid just for the storyline. He's just not a very realistic loser, and that's why it seems so bad. If he could show that he's putting up a good fight and still fit in the storyline, maybe it'd be different. As for Kung Fu Naki, I love seeing him come out of the gates just crazy the way he does, surprising the hell out of everyone. I'm cool with him winning once in a while.

Yeah, Charlie does well with his gimmick. What's sad is that when Haas was impersonating Beth Phoenix, Santino Marella easily threw him over the top rope like he was nothing. The same Santino Marella that just got beat by Hornswoggle Monday Night. So, does this mean MVP will eventually job to Hornswoggle? I sure hope not. Well, actually MVP does put up a fight. He had competitive matches with Matt Hardy and Hurricane Helms last week.

They were competitive matches, but because of the relative skill of Hardy and Helms, he was able to look a lot tougher, and still not quite get the win. It really is hard to make a loss look good when the opponent is so drasticly underpowered, and he simply can't pull it off. He does the successful act better than the not successful act.

agree with you that mvp has jobbed too much and this storyline has to stop. i think mvp will be feuding with kennedy soon. i think it will be a good matchup. i do hope that mvp gets the big push soon since he is a good heel. he's funny, good at the mic, and his ring skills are nothing to scoff at. i like him when he was forced to team up together with matt hardy. it was such a good pairing that i was kinda disappointed when it ended. i'd like to see mvp get a win against the wrestlers he jobbed for during this time, sort of a payback and it will look good in his storyline as he's being groomed for the big time. also, not sure if he's included in the royal rumble event but i'd like to see him there and i do hope he puts up strong numbers. mvp is a talent that wwe shouldn't put to waste. happy mylotting. cheers!!!

Yeah, MVP and Matt Hardy made for an interesting pairing. I remember when Michael Buffer introduced MVP on Saturday Night's Main Event. That was great! I'd like to see MVP get some of his wins back, too. I'd laugh if he totally squashed Khali. Now last week on Smackdown,(he was wrestling Kizarny) did you notice a brief MVP chant? I wonder if Vince was listening.

MVP has seriously been getting the decline as of late huh? MVP will once again be on top of Smackdown, just give it time.

I sure hope so. He could easily be a top heel or top face if they'd allow it to happen.

As long as it is pulling in money, then they will keep on using it to get more money. Haven't you heard Vince say "It's all about the money",m well this is just an example of that.

I really don't think people buy their tickets to WWE events to see MVP job constantly. Edge has been the top heel on Smackdown for a long time, but more and more people will get sick of him with the title in time. If they don't elevate more guys, it'll only cost them in the long run.

This is a storyline but I think Vince is making MVP job because he had an altercation backstage with an official. I mean jobbing to Triple H and The Great Khali is fine but King Funaki, that is not right. Funaki should be the one jobbing, he has been doing it his whole career. I saw MVP's match against Matt Hardy on ECW and it was a really good match even though he lost. Is MVP really the highest paid superstar on Smackdown?

No, that's just part of his gimmick that he's the highest paid superstar on Smackdown. His match on Smackdown last night with Helms was pretty good. MVP could easily be a main-eventer and I really think this storyline needs to end soon. He's done his sentence, IMO.
