For all i know, many of my female friends are crazy over Twilight. I don't understand why don't they call themselves New Moon fans or Breaking Dawn fans (ohmygosh! i can remember the book names!!). So, any of you males out there are fans of this Twilight 'pandemic' that's spreading like wildfire now?? Probably, Bella's fan?? Haha. I must admit that she's pretty, though (in the movie, i meant).

I don't understand why people keep declaring frustrations and disappointments about Twilight and everything, then all of them are very interested in answering discussions, posting discussions their motives are so confusing. I am once a student of filmmaking and somewhat good in criticizing the technicalities of the movie. Well, I read the Twilight book before watching it on the theater, I didn't find any wrong with how it is transported to the big screen. Well, people's disappointments movie rooted on the film's limited sequences. Actually, this is always the trend for Film Adaptation in the world entertainment industry for so long now, story from the book could be impossibly translated to the big screen word-for-word, the film director and the screenwriter based their scripts on the theme and the plot alone, after that, they have all the freedom to do the story at their own interpretation. They usually created the scenes for cinematic purposes, in the book the writer put extensive and vivid details to enhance readers' imaginations regarding the story, what could possibly done in the book usually not exactly the same in the movie, there are some considerations on this, maybe the scene has its complexities that the original sequence in the book is so hard to follow. But the director tried so hard to make the film interesting as possible, incorporating charm, wit and humor to bring out the best in each character. After all, character are creatures to make the story real and believable, it's on how we perceived them that make the difference. So the next time you read the book and watch it on the big screen, try to be fair in your jdugement, and bear in my mind that the two medium are always different.

Thank you for your response! I've personally not read the book or watched the movie, but i would have already expected what you've just said. I've experienced the same disappointment for the Harry Potter series, too.

I think they are called Twilight fans, because the four books, collectively is called the Twilight saga. So it makes more sense to call them that. I read the books; watch the movie. Think both experience was fun, but I'm ready to move on; that is pick another book, and watch another movie. Still, the books are not as bad as what people say, and neither is the movie. I would prefer that people should read them first and/or watch the movie before they malign them. At least have something to base your opinion on aside from secondhand comments of other people.

Ah, thanks for enlightening me on this matter of subject!! Some of what you've said has been stirring some questions inside my head for a little while. After hearing your thoughts about this, i think i'll give the movie a try. Haha, i'm not too sure about the book, because i doubt my female friends will borrow me their beloved books.

All four books are called the Twilight Saga.. Then as you know, the first book is Twilight, then New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn. Edward has his own version of Twilight called "Midnight Sun" which was on hold since August because someone leaked twelve chapters of the manuscript. Now Stephanie Meyer doesn't want to continue it yet. I know a few males who are a fan of Twilight. My cousin, a male, admires Edward Cullen. LOL. No, he's not gay. He admires him because he sets a good example although fictional character. Aw. :)
