balut is a popular food in the philippines. maybe some people might look at it as weird food, some may want it. some say it's delicious.
balut are said to be duck embryos. i think 16-day or 18-day hard boiled eggs.
it was already features at national geographic.
if i would to ask you, are you going to try it?to those, who've tried to taste it, is it delicious to you? do you consider it exotic?

Hi sbondoc, I still remember when I visited Cambodia two years back, one evening our tour guide suggested to take us to try the famous food in an nearby outlet. When talking about eating surely there was no objection at all. The restaurant was famous of its duckling egg noodle soup. I think the boiled duck egg with embryo in it is exactly the one which you have mentioned as “balut” above in your country, Philippine.
We were a big group of 26 persons in a bus, and most of my friends really enjoyed the egg with embryo in it, they even asked for an extra one, except a few of us dared not to take such type of egg. I felt quite scary to eat egg with an embryo in it, so I felt reluctant to try it anyway. Of course this finally had become the standing-joke
during our foreign tour.
Take care and
posting.
