What is happening to Ciao?

I have been with ciao for two months now and when I first started out I was having a blast doing product reviews. Then went from one dollar per review to a quarter per review. Then this morning I find out that we will not get paid one cent for writing a review unless it gets put into the premium fund and we win. Well this is a crock of crap and I am sick of it. I have noticed on there that reviews that people are writing are low grade and have no reason to have even been wrote, but why punish the people who are working hard and trying to do good by them? I mean I can write a five page review full of everything that anyone would possibly want to know about a product but that does not mean it will be put in the premium fund. It is all up to the readers discretion. I find myself really irritated that it has come down to this. I just wish that all those people who write maybe three little sentences and try to push to make the standard should be kicked off. Then we can all get paid the way we had been. Because they are probably going to lose me as a member because I will not be able to sit here and take an hour or so to write a very detailed review just for fun I have better things to do than that. At lease before I was getting paid something to write. Now the pay per review is gone. If you cannot tell I am very irritated over this and maybe you would like to tell me your lots or feelings if you are a ciao member.

U are absolutely right...I guess u are J brooks in Ciao right;-) Correct me if I am wrong. I am Miss. Enchanting. Ciao is really not fair reducing the rates per reviews last month and now nothing at all.. If they need good quality of reviews they need to have a quality control team. Yes, I know there are ridiculous reviews..but there are so many people who write immensely well.......I used to think mylot is irritating as the payment is soooo slow..But atleast they do not change their stance once every month....
Ciao is gonna lose a lot of good writers. Do you know any other better site to write reviews....?
If so let me know.....Meanwhile am trying Associated content and Helium....
Cheers!

I thought ciao to be a good paying site and a genuine one so i joined it. But they are not doing this fair to change their terms every other week. Well if we had to work so hard writing a review then we better be opt writing as a job rather than doing this part time job on ciao. They are definitely going to suffer a great lose of writers this way. And if they are doing it to stop the cheaters then they better opt for some other way than this. Your advice is right they must set up a team to look out for the quality and an anti-cheat association or something like that!! I think what they have done is absolutely unfair to people who have been working hard!!

i'll stay on and see what happens..i'm pretty disappointed knowing that.25 cents incentive is gone..yay! but i'm still hoping that the new premium fund system will benefit the honest reviewers.. you know what, if this is some sort of punishment to all scammers then they shouldn't consider punishing the honest reviewers who have been working hard to earn decent money..

I think I will try and stay on and see what happens with the premium fund. I am hoping that this new way will get rid of some of the cheaters since they won't be getting paid for their copied reviews. If people start rating as much as they use to than we still have a chance to earn a good amount of money but I am going to wait and see how they premium fund works out.

Yes, I agree the positives are that it will weed out most of the people who wrote short reviews and such but It also kills motivation for most of the writers and they will see a great drop off in reviews I believe. I don't think I will stick around there to see how the premium fund works it doesn't seem worth the while.

i know how you feel. it is very frustrating. it used to be a good site, but now its just not worth it anymore. too much effort and we may not even be paid.

So THAT's what they changed. I was wondering what was going on.
I think that Ciao made a big mistake with doing this. They are going to a lose a lot of contributing members. I probably will leave because it will be practically impossible do make money there now.

If you are writing 5 pages of review for $.25 then you are being stupid. The problem could easily be solved if Ciao increased the characters one needed to send reviews. They opted not to do that.
