How well do you know your neighbors?

I live on the ground floor of a 7 story aprtment building and aside from my colleague who lives on the 5th floor, I am sorry to say that I do not know anyone else at all! I have been here for a little over a year now and pass many of the residents on a daily basis because my office is also in the same building and I go up and down each day for work. But in my defense I am a foreigner here in Egypt and do not speak conversational Arabic, so it is not even possible to engage many of the neighbours even if I wanted to. I just thank God that my wife is here with me otherwise I might just go a little batty I think! lol.

Hello, raven66. I have lived here for three or four years (not quite sure), and I can say that I know my neighbors. Not pretty well. I mean, I usually compliment them when I am passing by, and say hi. Sometimes I chat with them, but it is as fast as a five minutes chit-chat. Usually, they are elderly. I know more or less about their past, for what they tell. However, I cannot say that I know each of them deeply. My mother, though, usually have more conversation with them and she will know what happens in their lives. But I'm not like her. Respectfully, Munhozmib.

i have lived where i live for 9 years and for five years i did not know my neighbors up the hill. i still do not know all my neighbors around me . iam a social person outside in the real world ,but once i am home i am ready to be alone .home is my safe haven where i rest and have all my thoughts and projacts away from life.i dont think i want to know all my neighbors.

I do know my neighbors but i rarely talk to them as they aren't much fun to hang out with and besides our religion is completely different. As they are Hindus they do the pujas which are very much like primitive practices and they do rubbish things like sacrifice a goat's blood to idols. Well and other neighbors we rarely talk even though we live together, my parents even have fought with them. well the relations with our neighbors aren't really that good.

I stay in the city of Mumbai. It is a big city and generally being a Bachelor people generally don't talk with us. I barely know my neighbours
