I'm very fond of action/adventure movies. I like the thrill, the mystery, the action, and of course, the sexy, rugged, adventurer who is usually bigger than life, and despite insurmountable odds, fight the bad guys, find the treasure and win the winsome lady.
Topping my lists are the following:

Matthew McConaughey's Dirk Pitt (Sahara)

hi there... yup.. angelina jolie as lara croft is awesome. one of my favorite movies. i like rachel weisz in the mummy. she's a fantastic actress. i was so sad that she's not part of the Mummy 3 though. happy mylotting.

i just got a mighty crush in him when i was younger....
also brendan fraser as O' Connel with the Mummy series..

i don't really have a favorite but i did like alot of the movies that arnold schwarzteneggar was in and also bruce willis. especially the DIE HARD movies. they were all really good.

You have a lot of good choices listed. I guess I would add: Jason Bourne (Matt Damon from The Bourne trilogy), Neo (Keanu Reeves from The Matrix trilogy), and even though he is made fun of now, I'd still add Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise of The Mission Impossible movies).

My favorite action movies have been the Indiana Jones franchise, the Die Hard franchise and the Lethal Weapon franchise....Ironically, all three of them started out to be trilogies and added a fourth later on (maybe that gives us some hope that the Pirates of the Caribbean are not done yet either?). I don't know what the reasoning behind the fourth Indy and the fourth Lethal Weapon movies were but I saw an interview with Bruce Willis about why he agreed to bring back John McClane and he said it was because Hollywood has come to rely too heavily on computers to create action and forget to employ real explosions and real stunts so he wanted to give Die Hard to a new generation of action fans.
So....to explicitly answer the question at hand:
