Do you think someone will come along and decide to give The Sound of Music a remake, or did Julie Andrews do it right the first time.
This was a great movie for its time and still is one of the classics, but I think it'd be nice to see how it could be made today.

That would be an incredibly ambitious project for any film maker. Who would want to go down in history as the person that botched such a well-known and well-loved movie. I don't think we will be seeing a remake of this masterfully done movie any time soon.

I don't think anyone who can remake "sound of music" as good as the original one. Because it's the time when people believing in " true love ", you can find a lot of sincerity and warmness in the actor's eyes which is less in nowadays actors ( no offend ). But I would be thrilled and can't wait to compare it if there's one. Even I'd like to speculate and predict who would be the perfect one to play Julie Andrew's role.
Sometimes today superb movie technologies would be poisoning the original spirit and charisma. One more thing is people tend to remember the first one as the right one.
But anyway, I am looking forward to compare it if in the future, there's one to be made.

This is an epic movie and I think most directors are scared of botching it up they won't even give it a thought. But if it had a remake, it would have to have an all star cast and producer to make it work :D

I think it was done beautifully the first time. I don't see a problem if they do a remake but they have to have a good cast or the movie will be a complete failure compared to Julie Andrews. But, I think with a good cast - and don't even ask me who they could choose as I would have no clue! I'm no good at that!! lol - they movie could be another great classic with more up to date visuals, etc.

I hope that no one tries to remake "The Sound of Music". It's a classic as it is--remakes usually screw the original movie up so badly.
