Why do cops cheat on their wives or girlfriends?

I know it's wrong to stereotype, but I have a lot of cop friends and female friends that date cops. It seems that a lot of them cheat on their wives or girlfriends. I'm not saying that all of them do, but a good percentage of them do it. I have very few friends that don't. It can't only be my friends, because I always hear women complaining that their cop husbands are fooling around. What I don't understand is why my girlfriends keep dating cops even though the last 2 or 3 or 4 had cheated on them. I wonder if they think that one day they will find a faithful one.

I don't know that there are any studies to show that policemen or officers of the law are more likely to cheat or not. I do know that there is a perception that women like "men in uniform", but again I don't know that a man in a police uniform will be any more attractive, than the UPS man. Personally if this is the case I would think that it may have something to do with the fact that they come in contact with a lot of different people of the public due to their job. This could be specific to your group of friends.

I think you're right. They do come into contact with many more people than the average person. I used to look at men in uniforms too.... especially fire fighters, but I don't know enough of them to say that most of them cheat.

I am sure that if you did a study at the post office, you could find a certain percentage of mailmen, that cheated on their wives. My point is that I don't think that your occupation has a lot to do with whether you are a cheater or not. I think that if you look at a occupation that is predominate male, then the numbers would be higher. Just seems to be simple math to me.

I was watching a documentary movie on police officers, "Internal Affairs". It followed an LAPD officer who did quite a lot of fooling around on his own wife and even with the wives of other officers. So I guess it is more rampant than we might think.

obviously it was not only the cops but it proves that the boys are not contented to what they have. they just want to proved to other people that they are tought and good in bed. and it also because of their ego.

Yes, I think it has a lot to do with their egos too. I wonder why it takes so much to make them feel content. Some probably risk to lose the best thing they ever had. It doesn't make sense to me. Thanks for responding!
