Hey from yesterday my cable T.V. got disconnected, because I have not paid the subscription, today being a sunday, the cable will be connected only on monday after I pay the dues, but to tell you honestly, I did not miss the T.V. today because I was able to finish off some of my pending works, as well as I was able to reply to all my mails etc. Well how will you feel without your favourite shows ? Your responses.

I have been without cable before. I even lost a couple of seasons of my favorite shows. I still haven't caught up with the story line in some of them.

Well as far as the Indian soaps are concerned, even if you miss the entire season, nothing is lost, because the same goody goody heroine will be suffering at the hands of her abusive husband, mother in law, sister in law or the husbands girlfriend, etc, and same old story continues. In fact I used to watch one American soap 'The Bold and the Beautiful', there also it is the same old story, nothing much changes. I have only missed the news, which is more intersting nowadays instead of the soaps.

That is true. I haven't watched the soaps in over twenty years but if I happen to walk into a room where someone else is watching I instantly know what is going on and who is who. The series shoes I was talking about are Atlantis, and SG1 and Galactica. Yes I am a sci fi fanatic.

arcidy you are lucky, that you are able to download these shows, this technology has just now come in India, and unfortunately I have a old cable box which does not have the downloading capacity. For this I have to pay more, to get the new one and I prefer to wait hoping the initial price might come down.

I haven't own a television for over two years now, and to be honest, I don't miss it at all. I love the freedom I'm enjoying from the so-called "idiot box", not being tied, mindlessly watching shows after shows. Now, I just get my TV shows on DVD and I control the amount of time I spend watching them, and I don't even have to deal with pesky commercials. I don't need to spend anymore money on cable TV, and I get more chance to read, which is my favorite activity.

You are great wayz12, for me without TV for one day was enough, because today there was election results of 5 states in India, and I was not able to watch which political party was winning, of course internet was there and I was able to watch the final results. But I had to bite the dust today, because there was so much pressure from my family members, that I had to shell out the money, and I hope I will start receiveing the signals from tomorrow, you see the ladies of the house want their daily dose of soaps.
