I believe on what the first responder said, a friend is an extension of one's life. A psychology student friend told me that our friends are most likely the people we can relate ourselves too. Meaning, they are like ourselves. We see ourselves to our friends. A true friend is someone who is always there for you. I agree very much. Yes, a friend is someone who accepts you for who you are. I would say a friend is someone for whom you are ready to die if need be.
