The results of the louisianna 2nd District race for congress are in and WIlliam Jefferson (D), who is currently facing federal indictments related to illegal funds received from Nigerian business interests, has been defeated, further tipping the balance of power and giving the Republicans one more seat than they may have expected in congress. Enter Joseph Cao (R) a relatively young and unknown man with no political background. Cao fled Vietnam with his mother and siblings as refugees, and came to the united states in 1975.
Congradulations Mr. Cao.

It is great to hear that the people voted Jefferson out, I personally believe that we should change the constatution so no one convicted of a felony can be elected to government office. This year sould be a wake up call to the American people, we could have had two convicted criminals reelected.

I'm glad Jefferson is out. I know that everyone routinely keeps wads of cash in their freezers (hence the term "cold cash") but there's something fishy about that man and he shouldn't hold any political position. I saw an enterview with Mr. Cao earlier today and he seems like a decent guy. I wish him all the best.

Goodbye Icebox Willie! The people of New Orleans may want a stinking bit of rancid tallow as a mayor, but I'm glad to see that the 2nd District is tired of criminals representing them!
Way to Go People!!!

How nice that the voters of this Congressional District saw fit to oust Jefferson for his wrongdoings. Now he can spend more of his time trying to defend himself while the people in the district have a Congressman that is working for them and not himself.
