That is a beautiful tree but so bare! I don't think I've seen a tree so bare in a while. I like it both ways, bare or loaded down with ornaments. The one's with not so many ornaments or the "bare" ones are beautiful in that you enjoy the tree just as much as you do the ornaments. The ornaments on the more loaded down tree's are beautiful, but you don't enjoy the tree so much.

We have an Angel on top of the tree. I have been married for 38 years this month and having I retired last year, this is the first time I have helped decorate the tree (I actually did most of it). I just finished it about an hour ago. Happy Holidays...
Happy MyLotting....

I haven't as yet put up my tree ... which is a very small table-top model. Will get to it eventually, maybe.
But ... I remember the angel that was our family tree topper when I was very young. Our angel was a white gowned plastic one with yellow air and holding a star wand. I don't know where she went to but I do remember that special feeling I got when looking at the tree lights in the darkened room ... and seeing her special light on top.

No. I wish I did. Over the years, my mother downsized a lot (especially as she moved from farm to small house in town to seniors apartment) and I have no idea what she did with a lot of the things I remember from my childhood. Whenever she downsized, I never knew she was giving away/throwing away things so I never had an opportunity to obtain some of the "family" items. But I do have the memories ... I just don't alway remember them until something twigs them ... like your discussion. Thanks for the memory!

Hi ya rocketj1
Well my tree doesn't have anthing on it right now as the tree is still in it's box!! I am putting the decorations and tree up next weekend with my mum. She thinks she's coming to help me but really I wanted her to come and have a nice time with my kids doing something Christmassy as she now lives on her own. There is nothing better than putting on some Christmas music and decorating the house and tree with the kids!

We have an angel on the top of our tree. Our angel is the same one I bought the first year I had my own apartment. I have used the same one every year. We were given a star from my boyfriends Dad, but I prefer the angel.

Right now we have a santa hat on the top of the tree - the kids were trying to be original.

Hi Rocketj1, I haven't responded to you in a while nor have I seen any discussions from you in awhile. I'm glad I came across this one. I am finding discussions to respond to about Christmas, lol, kind of as a theme since I am enjoying responding about them so much. In any case, Our Christmas Topper is a star. My grandmother had a star on her tree as well, i think hers little blue... Ours lights up yellow...

I have an angel and it is many years old.. We use most of the same decorations that we have for years.. I hardly ever throw any of them away, especially if they can be refurbished.. Many of them have been around since our first Christmas and this is our 40th one now, so I keep them for sentimental reasons.. Almost all of them have special meanings also and I will probably pass them on to my son one day and then he can do what he will with them, but I hope he keeps most of them..

I have a big gold star with colorful lights in the center of it. I wasn't sure I wanted to put anything on top for I origionally didn't have anything for it. My friend told me I should so we went to the store and I bought one. I guess she was right for now it looks complete with the star I'm glad I decieded to.

My mother have put up our christmas tree so early, September 1. LOL she's not that excited, just a traditon to her. What's on top of our christmas tree is a STAR, symbolizing the star that became the guide of the three wise men to proclaim the birth of Jesus Christ. Remember Jesus as our guiding light whenever we see a shining star.

There is an angel on top of my Christmas tree. It is a pretty angle with silver wings wearing a silver dress. My tree is decorated in blue and silver this year so I had to find a tree topper to match and that is what I found. I think it looks good.

We have a star tree topper. My husband apparently had one as a child and he absolutely needed to have a similar one. He eventually found it and it's been on our tree every Christmas since. I'd love to have an angel. I think that's need. I doubt my husband will let me. In that respect he is like a kid, lol;)

I don't have a Christmas tree, but my sister has one in her house. I usually celebrate my Christmases there. This year, a Mickey Mouse is at the top, chosen by my 3-year old niece. Last year was an angel (her 5-year old brother's choice). Before that, was a star (chosen by her 8-yr old brother). Looks like they each get a turn at choosing the ornament.

MISSING ONE CHRISTMAS ANGEL: I can't find my angel - I've had my Christmas angel for years but we hunted high and low on Sunday and she is lost. Cannot see any angels in town either. At the moment I have a red poinsettia Christmas Flower - but this will definitely change if I can find another angel

I have an angel on top of mine, it doesn't have any special features, is just a really old family heirloom passed down like three or four generations of my family. It is made out of cardboard...

We have a big gold star on top of our tree this year. Actually, I don't remember using anything to top our Christmas tree off but when we rummaged through boxes of old holiday decors and lights, we found a star. Funny that after all this time, we had a topper hidden away. LOL It is still shiny too that's why we couldn't resist using it this year. :D
