I was going through the discussions that are here .. and i felt that some of the discussions here are so banal that it really pissed me off...
i joined mylot because of my interest in constructive discussion where i get something to learn...and mylot provides me that platform...also i am getting paid for my interest ..which is really cool and gives me an extra boost of motivation...
are there guys who feel as i do?

Well, I'm a newer here. but i came here not only for earning money ,i found it's a good place to communicate with you-the native english speakers. because, english is the second language in my country,we don't talk with others in english.
but here, i can communicate with you, and ialso,i can learn lots of things from you. i really like this.
though there are lots of banal topics, i still can find somthing intresting things, and i am happy to be here, to make friends that are different countries and to appreciate different culture. that's an amusing thing, it brings me more pleasure than the money that i earned.

Hii,
I think you have a valid point , posting for just earning some bucks will not keep us going in the long run...we will surely taper off just as we cross our 100th comment...the force that will take us from the 100th to the 200th comment is surely not money...:-)

I, like probably a lot of people originally joined Mylot in the hope of earning a lot of money. When the penny eventually dropped and realised that being here on Mylot is never going to make me rich, it was too late as I was hooked.
I will admit that some days the discussions taking place are awful and it means that you have to search around, I use the Search Box at the top of the page, to find something of interest or I try and start some interesting discussions.
Don't get frustrated, there is enough room on here for us all to have fun, whether it is just for some good discussions to pass the time, for friendship or to try and earn a few cents.

There are plenty of people here that enjoy the give and take of intelligent conversation. As we navigate around the site we bump into them every day. I believe that these are the ones that this forum was created for, but there are also a lot of people who are only interested in the money that they think they will make here.
You can easily tell the difference by the kinds of discussions they start and the comments that they make.
The thing is that getting upset about the ones who make banal discussions and comments is just a waste of your energy. There is no way to change them so the only thing we can do is pursue our own goals in this forum and forget about the rest.

i never joined any discussion or forum before, mylot is my first one. i joined in firstly because my father told me its a good place to gain knowledge and widen my horizon. as im in 1 month holiday, and dont have anything serious to do, i joined mylot. so, its not about money. anyways, discussing while gaining money (although not much) is a good thing to do. maybe one day, i would be serious in mylot. who knows.

Thanks for the best response. I did often think how those people who made banal discussions actually made anything, but I suppose they are the ones who complain because they have been here five months, etc. and -- well when you read their posts you know what the last few words are going to be.

I would think that having banal discussions proves that the person is here to not make money. After all, if I want to just fool around, I can ask silly questions such as "do you like red hair or blue," or "would you choose to drink or to eat?" I would think that my chances at making money are if I asked about the impact of the recession would be on you, or if I told of my diabetes and wanted suggestions as to substitutions for holiday foods without feeling left out. I mean something meanful will get one making money and you will be helping someone here on myLot. Those who just write banal discussions or silly subjects are just wasting pressing their fingers on the keyboard.

Hello, maverickwarrior.
I am sure that there are users who are not here for the money, but yes for the knowledge and the sharing of information. I, myself, am here mainly for the money. I have to say that if there was no money involved in myLot, I would be far from here. All the time I spend here is fun, and I know that I learn a lot. But still, what motivates me is the money. But this is no excuse for me to create discussions that are meaningless and that makes no sense. As users, I believe we all should work towards getting better, making quality posts.
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

Was actually. When I first joined, it was primarily for money, but this place is more for fun and thinking than money. So I still stick around for that part of myLot, oh yeah I have seen some people crying since they earn very less in here. It so happens that most people just want to earn money that they keep making stupid discussions, but there are more people here who are really interested to talk and discuss things that it's fun more. And for me, most of those discussions get buried under my friend's discussion. So I usually do not get to see them at all..

I would not be here as often if not for the money, but I would also not post meaningless posts just to make money. The posts I do I usually have an opinion on. You would not know it by my star rating but I usually have at least several lines of what I have to say and a lot of my posts are much longer. Unfortunately I guess I am too opinionated and think there has been my star marking down because someone did not agree with me. Anything banal I just pass over and go on to the next one, I would not get pissed off about it. We are not all Pulitzer prize winning writers and for some people just being able to construct one sentence or two is all they can contribute, no point in getting upset.

You know, at first, I joined just for the money. but at $.01 per post - not much point to that, really. But i found that Mylot is way better to simply chat in than other PTP sites, even with less money.
more people saying poignant (yeah - great word, I know) things, better topics to discuss.
so I might have joined for the money, but i'm staying here just to meet the world.

You have to shift amongst the debris to find good and interesting discussions. You have to understand the rules of the game here. The more you post and start new discussions, the more you get paid. It is difficult to write a quality post in each discussion.

Most people are here just for the money. It's nice when you can find an interesting discussion, but I've learned not to count on finding any most days. The discussions are banal because most people are banal. But that seems to be appealing enough to get lots of comments for some people. The rest of the site is mostly spammers and scammers who are out to rip people off for as much as they can get. I don't spend too much time here because it would just be a waste. It's kind of a miracle when I find someone that really has something worthwhile to say.

Hi Maverickwarrior,
I joined mylot for making money. I was searching some website for making some extra money and I reached mylot. After becoming active in mylot I got many good friends, more knowledge etc so I started to enjoy mylot. Now I am doing mylot as an enjoyment. It is really gives pleasure to me while discussing with my friend's and earning in mylot is bonus for us.
Thanks and hope you will be able to participate some constructive discussions here. Happy mylotting.

Well, I must say that I joined MyLot to earn money, but I really enjoy posting here and the part where you get paid for it, is just an awesome bonus. I am sad to say that I probably wouldn't be on it as much if you didn't get paid, because when you set a goal, you post more.
I must agree that some discussions might be a bit useless, but I just mostly don't respond to them. Perhaps it also depends on what your interested in. For example, something you might find banal, might be interesting to someone else. I guess it's just personal. :) But don't worry, I'm sure you'll still find discussions you are interested in and you'll keep enjoying MyLot.

I have to say no, my friend. We are here not only for the money we get paid from mylot, if so that's too less, isn't it? Take me for a example, I am here partly because to learn English since I am in a country which English is only a foreign language but we should learn it well in order to get my degree from my college, and, I have to admit, partly because the money. However when after the comparasion, I learnt that the things I learnt from mylot are much more important than the money. What's more important, we can enjoy ourselves here since there so many intresting things to find out everyday, and I am just enjoying it.
