So my suggestion, move there. Just pack your stuff and get the hell out. I love it here in the united states since i was born here. You obviously weren't so you wouldn't understand the freedom we have. But hey if you don't like it, move on. I have been to australia and i think it's absolutely amazing as well but not sure if i could live there. I'm just not sure how their work would be compared to the united states. It might be cool though so go check it out.

Your still young things get better as you get older and can start getting your own independance. Australia may seem like a great deal right now but 6 months down the line it may not be the place you want to be. Especially with relationships at your age they move on pretty fast nothing is guaranteed. Then you would be in a country literally on your own. If your serious about it look into the student exchange programs. But there is other options aswell my cousin got work in the outback on a farm for a year which he loved the experience. You really need to spend a bit of time on the net and search round. Maybe taking a year out would be better than moving completely. It will give you your own space aswell as time to see your girlfriend.

Australia has some of the most strict immigration laws of any country in the world. I've heard that basically you cannot get a job there unless absolutely no Australians are capable of doing that job. So unless you have some very specific expertise, it is nearly impossible to live in Australia for a very long extended period of time. However, there are plenty of options for staying in Australia temporarily. You could stay in Australia has a foreign exchange student, or join a program for doing seasonal work in Australia. Since you have to be at least 18 for most of those work in Australia programs, being an exchange student would probably be your best bet. Use the internet to search for an exchange program that sounds good to you. Most of these programs can be pretty pricey, so start saving your money!
