Passive perfectionism

I have to admit it, I actually am very lazy. There's a name for what I have, some psychologist once called it 'passive perfectionism'. Because yes, I want to do everything perfect and get very unhappy when things don't work out the way I want them to. Yet I usually procrastinate everything, tasks I have to do, papers I have to write, keeping up with lessons (thoug I do attend them), I even postpone cleaning my room or doing the dishes.
Result: I have to hurry and work very long days and even longer nights to get things finished! Exams are very stressy, and everytime I have just met the deadline or stayed up all night to learn the exam of the following morning, I swear to myself I'll begin earlier and work more throughout the year. But then I always find some excuse or activity not to study or clean or whatever I should do.
Do you recognize this? And what do you do to force yourself to study? The only thing that's helping for me: going to a library, so I can't surf the Internet, and I only take the things I need to study with me, so I won't be distracted. Or, when at home: sit in the living room so my mum will notice when I'm distracted. But then I get disturbed a lot by brothers, parents, visitors, so library is best for me!

Yes, i am a procrastinator as well but a selective one. That means I can delay on something that i can afford to but for things which i cannot i do it well within time and with perfection. I feel most humans are but procrastinators as long as they can afford to.

Lol, indeed, procrastinate as long as you're able. You do have to know very good what you can do in a certain amount of time though, wrong calculations lead to long nights! It's good however, that you do the things you have to, and with perfection, that's the way to go!
Thanks for your answer as well :-)

For me, I almost never study on a daily basis, I copy work a lot of the time as well because I'm so lazy.
However, when it comes to exam time, I'll just start studying daily a few months before hand. Yet it's not exactly the kind of "hardcore" studying, instead I go to the library with friends everyday and we talk, have fun, and study all at the same time. So in the end, studying for exams doesn't feel so much like a chore. We all curse our teachers together, help each other out with work, etc. It's actually quite fun!
