My mother says that there are something’s a woman should never tell, do you agree with this statement and ooops I just realized I have found myself in a bit of a dilemma ,because I was just about to ask you what these things are .However I suppose many women would never tell and since they wont talk no man is ever going to know. So I suppose I will find very few responses. Anyway if there are any brave women who are willing to answer this question ,please respond even if you do so in broad strokes.

Afraid I don't agree with your mother :-) I know some women don't want to tell their age. I'm quite proud of my age (62) and don't try to hide it. People usually say I look a lot younger than that so I don't get any negative kick-back from telling. Of course it all depend on who's asking. If I had a husband, I would keep nothing from him. But I can think of several questions which, if someone asked me, I'd be inclined not to tell, simply because "it's not their business"! I don't think that's quite what you meant though, is it. Basically if you are in a loving, trusting relationship, you shouldn't keep things back from them... well, I wouldn't anyway.

In the interests of keeping things 'open and above-board' I must add that my avatar pic was taken in 1999, so I was "only" 53 then!

I don't think there is anything we should keep if someone genuinely and positively (as in not in a negative way) wants to know. I'm 38 with a two year old, I'm proud of my age. What other kinds of things do you want to know?

Sure, I'll answer! I'm 31 years old and I don't mind telling. I think it boils down to the individual and how comfortable she feels telling her age and who she is telling it to. I personally don't mind telling everyone my age!

Hi there, I'm the same age as you and I dont have a problem telling my age, besides most people think I'm 19 or 20, anyway they always look so shocked when they find out I'm 31 and not 19 so I guess it dosent matter if I tell my age or not. as for this topic I think there are a few other things that I dont discuss just because I thinks its kind of nice for a woman to have a little mystery and keep a few little things to herself, but I dont mind telling my age.

Actually that depends on the person who you had the conversation, if your comfortable with him, you can trust the person will its better not to hide the thing from him. The thing you will keep for your self are those stuff you aren't comfortable taking with it.

I'm guessing she's talking about age. Back in the day many women used to say "A woman should never tell how old she is". No idea why because sometimes a woman might look younger than her years. I am one such person. I'm almost 49 and people still think I'm in my early to mid 30's. It's kind of nice to know people think of you as younger than you actually are. Anyway, I suppose there are things you shouldn't talk about such as ex-boyfriends or that you are having an affair with a married man or the like. You shouldn't give your all though. It's nice to have at least one or too secrets.

I don't think so.In some aspects, women are more sensitive to discover something that men cannot tell.I believe people misunderstand this concept because women usually act more emotional and that doesn't mean women are not as smart as men.Women just hide their true feelings about something and behave as if they completely were not aware of this subtle thing. On the contrary,it is smart to protect themselves from people who consider them stupid then don't look them as rivals. That's my view.
