WOW! i am so envious that you are going to my home country :) There are a lot of nice spots to see such as the beaches :) Where are you staying exactly? you can survive on about 30 USD a day on meals (actually, this is a pretty big budget already) depending on where you want to eat. Hope you enjoy your stay :)

if you are staying in Manila i suggest that you visit the following spots:
1. intramuros (walled city) the national museum is also in the area so it should not be missed as well
2. Mall of Asia - very HUGE mall near the ocean - go here on a weekday and in the morning to avoid the crowd
3. ocean park
4. luneta park
these areas are more or less in the same vicinity :) you can commute via cab but i suggest you ask a local for help with the cab because there are a lot of drivers who try to scam tourists into paying more.
Good luck, hope you enjoy your stay and don't forget to wear sunblock!

If you want to just be in Manila, you can visit different places there. You can go to Baguio city, Tagaytay, Boracay and there are nice parks also in Manila. Well, if you want to go to Mindanao, Davao has t lots of beautiful spots and not as dangerous as other places in Mindanao. In Davao you can visit Samal island with beautiful white beaches. Yes, you can go to Eden park, You can visit the Philippines Eagle, the Crocodile Park, people's Park and other places I already forgot the names.. hahaha but I can tell you, Davao is a good place to visit for vacation. Have a nice Trip..

Since you will be planning to visit Philippines try to visit Visayas also especially Cebu , it's a one hour plane from manila but the ticket won't cost you that much at about $80 . I am from Cebu, here in Cebu you can have an easy access to the different islands in the Philippines like bohol, negros or even to mindanao because we are located at the center of the country and in Cebu alone you can visit so many beautiful places.

you may come to Leyte. You can see the san juanico bridge, mcarthur landing monument, sto.niƱo shrine, people's center, and shopping for tokens and other giveaways for your friends is a lot cheaper in our shopping center ( be ready to haggle prices. For your stay, you may check the internet for the hotels and it's also not expensive plus some hotels offer free tour around the region for you to see the beatiful scenic spots. It's just an hour and a half plane ride from manila.

Hi, hello, welcome to the Philippines then!
If you're staying in Metro Manila, there will be a lot of shopping and eating you can do then. Is your husband coming along for business? If so, don't be shy to ask his business friends here for places to go - they can give you better and more practical tips about going around Metro Manila. Filipinos are generally friendly with foreigners and they like to take their foreigner friends around. For some sight seeing, you can go outside of Metro Manila. You may be interested in going up to Tagaytay, around two hours away. Weather is cool there. Tourists go there for a view of the volcano (very active) which is in the middle of a lake, and this lake is actually inside a bigger volcano (inactive).
Good luck with your exams, and I hope you enjoy your trip to the Philippines!

Really? cool i just arrived yesterday, i had a seminar and davao and i would like to recommend it..it has great views, parks, food and people!!! the people are nice and not dangerous! more helpful and friendly... i will put some pics here. I stayed in the Grand Regal Hotel..its quite expensive there but i guess you could afford it.. it has nice rooms, service, it has a pool, casino, sauna..so very nice..its a 5 star hotel so the service is really great. Davao is known for durian an exotic fruit..so if you are up for it then try one...plus lots of fruits! The parks are great and the beaches in samal island...i really recommend it... go to Eden park, people's park...its so great... it is located here in mindanao and its about 1 to 2 hours ride from Manila ( probably where you will land first )..

Hello. Philippines is a very nice place to have your vacation, we have a lot of beautifull beaches and hotels here, also the people are so friendly, i would suggest that you should take a dive in philippine seas. You could vist "Dumaguete, Philippines", it's a town in the Philippines with so many beaches and dive sites to offer. :) happy vacation. :)

Your best bet would be Boracay - it's one of the most well-known places here in the Philippines - usually regarded as the most beautiful beach in the country. I think tourists love that place. Baguio is a nice place as well - it's actually considered as Philippines' summer capital - you'll definitely love Baguio's ambiance. Regarding the food, well I would have to recommend my favorite Filipino dish which is Kare-Kare. You should also try some of the well-known food here such as Adobo, Balot, and Isaw. I don't know anything about the Malaysian currency or how much is the exchange rate between your country's money to Philippine peso, but I assume that you'll find Filipino delicacies and stuff cheap.
Philippines - the Republic of the Philippines, a Southeast Asian country comprised of over seven thousand islands in the Pacific Ocean.
Let peace reign. Let love rule.

You should visit Boracay and Palawan. Great beaches. If you're not into the whole beach thing, you can go to Vigan in Ilocos. So many Spanish architecture. Enjoy your stay here!

Baguio is around 5 or more hours of travel via bus (Victory Liner Bus), that is from Manila. You can also travel by plane but cost you around 6000 pesos per person..so that's expensive.

It's spelled Philippines. And everything there is so cheap. I'm not from there, but I've visited a couple times. The food is amazing. The shopping is great too. Make sure to never be by yourself at any time though.. It can be kind of scary. I'm jealous I want to go there for the holidays.

There are a lot of things to see and places you can visit in the Philippines. If there is one thing you must know, it's that food in the Phil isn't that expensive. I suggest hooking up with a travel guide (a friend or a relative) who can show you around. You can go to Baguio cause its a lot cooler there, Cebu is also a good choice! The choices are endless!
Have fun!

Hi there, I am from the Philippines. I know a place where you can have your holiday. The place is called Coron, Palawan. I can proudly say it is one of the many great places to visit in my country.
Why Coron? It's a 45 minute flight from Manila to Busuanga Airport and a 30 minute van ride to the town proper of Coron, Palawan. Excitement will start from the airplane viewing the amazing islands below. You can stay at Seadive. The place has many rooms for guests and a roof deck to spot the spectacular view of the islands of coron. Fan room rate is 700 Philippine pesos, additional 100 for an airconditioned room. The food rates from Php180 to Php300 for a fine dining service.
If you are a water loving person you will be amazed by the beauty of the reefs and enjoy diving for the ship wrecks of the world war 2. If you like history it has its own story to tell from mystery to facts of the mystical place.
Go pack your thinigs and head to Coron.
Have fun!!

Philippines is a great country. You can find hospitable people here. You can visit Cebu City, I'm here, you'll get to enjoy the places. You can visit Tagaytay, that's near Manila also. Just bring a tour guide with you so you get to enjoy the country. It really depends on where exactly in the Philippines you'll like to visit. You'll enjoy your stay here.
