I admit I have been under a whole lot of stress these last few months, I don't sleep well, my diet is not the greatest even though I do eat better than I have in the past. I also have fibromyalgia which means I am in pain all the time and I have no energy. Still. I believe there should be something I can do to boost my immune system. I seem to be catching everything that is going around! Any advise?

As I know, the best way to have strong immune system, is to be happy. That's why the psychological factor is very important to keep us healthy. But since you have been stressful, you need to have better diet to compensate the negative effective. First, you should take more vegetables and fruits. Our immune systems need a lot of nutrients in these food. If possible, eat raw vegetables (like what you have in the salad). Eat five different types of vegetables and fruits, in different colours (red, yellow, green, white, purple, orange, black, blue and etc), on daily basis, half an hour before meal. But you need to wash them before you consume it, to remove the pesticide as much as possible. So, you should buy those farmed with organic agriculture, to be free from synthetic fertilizer and pesticide. Drink a lot of water will hel too. Drink one big glass of water just after wake up everyday. Try it, and good luck to you!

Thanks for your input. I will definitely try your advice. Water is something I tend shy away from but because I know it is good there are some days I'll drink it like I should but just not consistently. I'll also have to work on the happy part, but this happening more and more as I change the people around me. I have been so disappointed by people who I have trusted for many years, but now I am spending more time with a different clientele of people who are very supportive. I just have to get through this stressful situation and maybe things will start to look better.

You are most welcome lumenmom. I am glad that you have a positive environment change, and you are meeting better people instead of those that annoy you. This alone already will help with your health. Besides, I wish to emphasize more on the water drinking. It's very important to keep it consistent. Once you wake, you need to consume a lot. One glass is good enough, but two is even better. This will help to discard the toxic more efficiently built up at night while we sleep. Besides, this help to clean our stomach to accept healthy food for breakfast. All the best and have a great day!

I personally think the immune system is something that is built when you are very young, my mother used to say let your kids get dirty and by doing this the immune system gets strong the natural way, it has been proven kids today are kept too clean so their immune systems do not get strong...

Your mom was probably right and yes I was one who was kept clean and indoors a lot. Fortunately my daughter goes to a school that believes in the great outdoors and getting dirty....(sometimes a bit more than I would like!)Well at least she has a better chance than I did...

some of these discussions are right. A great immune system is built up in time.
if you want to catch up you should change your lifestyle, if this is not possible these are some of the things that might help:
Ascorbic acid or vitamin C - boosts immunity
Vit. B complex - anti-stress
Lingzhi/Reishi/Ganoderma - immunity
hope this helps!

I have found zinc to be a great boost to the immune system. I have also found that Echinacea is a very good supplement that supports and boosts the immune system, but before taking anything, you should speak with your physician to see if any of the suggestions you receive will cause the fibromyalgia to spike.
Good luck and I hope you are able to find the right combo to help you begin feeling better.

First, you should have a good rest and a healthy diet. You can search "healthy diet" in internet or pay a visit to a dotor, the latter would be better. Usually, a healthy diet means having healthy food at certain quantity at certain time. Healthy food means fresh food, not containing additive. Second, cultivate a good habit of working and rest. Third, take some exercises.

i think you should try to fix your sleeping habits because i noticed that when i have sleeping problems i get sick faster and get anemia. maybe you should also do breathing exercises or yoga to help you tone down your stress level. i really hope that you get better soon :)

The immune stystem can be influnced by two sides in my opinion. One is your body itself, whether the immune stystem is strong is decided by your gene, somebody was born with a strong immune stystem. The other side is the thing we can do to improve our immune stystem,as we all know, doing sports can boost a person`s immune stytem,it can make people more healthier.Except doing sports, the emotion of one people can also effect the immune stytem,we should keep a happy mood everyday, then our immune stystem can get improved naturally, like a cancer patient,i believe that all of you have listened some facts that a cancer patient can be healed by himself because of his good mood.
Our gene can not be changed by us to boost our immune stytem, but keeping happy everyday is a easy thing that we can do .

There are many ways to improve your health. One way is to maintain a balance diet. To maintain your immune system you have to take less sugar, take less sweet things like chocolates as they drain up your energy. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables so that you get your vitamins. If possible suck lemons and eat a lot of oranges to increase your vitamin C in your body. Take a multi -vitamin tablet if possible, they cover up your daily vitamin needs. Exercise at least for an hour a day so that your body can throw all the body wastes. Sleep at least 8 hours a day.

I have found garlic to be great for keeping away the bugs, not to mention the vampires. I know, it's foul smelling but the taste isn't bad and you can usually counteract the garlicky smell with lemon juice.
I used to eat it every day on toast with cheese. Loved it and it kept the flu and other things away. Haven't much time nor the inclination these days. Too many things to think about. Like responding to these questions.
Give it a try. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Eating fruits and vegetables and taking vitamins or food supplements will really help you boost your immune system. Splurge yourself to yellow and orange fruits and green and leafy vegetables. Taking vitamins C, calcium and iron tablets can help too. And for you to have better sleep, drink a cup of hot milk before sleeping. And as much as possible, try to avoid things can cause stress. Good luck!
