I just had this conversation with a friend. We talk about babies. He mentioned that there a place in northern Philippines where you can buy babies for Php 10,000 ONLY!! I'd like to have a baby / little brother as I'm an only child. But at the back of my mind, If I buy, does it mean that I encourage those mothers do what they are doing or If I buy I can help the baby to have a brighter future? Haay :-(

I would love to have a daughter and the thought of buying one in the northern part of the Philippines would be great for the little girl, give money to the mother but I would have trouble bringing the child back to my home country. It sounds so very unofficial compared to international adoption. The authorities in my home country would wonder why I have no record of having her her that is giving birth. Yes, it would be excellent to give one of these babies a bright and happy future.

Thank you mamimax. The same thing what i'm thinking. The legality of adopting the baby. I have no wife (so the baby will have no mother just in case i adopt him/her). But also i'm considering what can I give to the baby when i decided to adopt. Thank you very much!

I am sure that you would make a lovely dad to one of the babies being sold. Yes, people would wonder where your wife is if you did buy a baby. Years later it could be worrying if the authorities got difficult. I know all form filling and application processes. I hope all these little baby boys and girls get excellent homes.

I feel, selling babies by the parents is not right ethically. This would encourage poor parents to procreate and to sale off their babies! It would become a business. Govt. should STOP this. If I want a baby, why buy it from them, we can adopt proper legal procedures and get orphans. The whole thing sounds so gross and In India also such practice prevail. Thanks.

I know a lady that had six boys and then tried to have a girl. She was unsuccessful and had another boy. So she is going to another country to have medical treatment that will hopefully give the lady the girl she so very much wants. The adoption procedure is so difficult in my home country and it applies for international adoption as well. In some countries it is so much easier for the local people to adopt a baby that needs a loving home.

I'm sure it's illegal. It's against our laws to buy or sell human beings. I recall a televised case of a mother, though not from the north, who wanted to sell her baby for obvious reasons of financial distress. She was brought to the police station (or maybe the local social welfare office) where it was explained to her that it was illegal. The thing about the case up north is, there can be no certainty as to where those babies come from. Every now and then we hear of babies being kidnapped. I also recall watching on television a distraught mother whose baby was kidnapped at a hospital, I think it was in Baguio. My heart bled for her. I'd take on a baby anytime, but I'd like to be sure I am really helping the parents, and not the other way around. Happy mylotting!

That's about $200 American dollars. My gosh. That's ultra cheep. If it was legal there would be thousands of westerners flocking their to get a baby. I'd fly there to get a baby if it was legal.

We will just say that you will pay for the parents compensation of ten thousand pesos, so that you can have a child. Buying a baby or adopting for free is the same risk, and yes you can help to give that baby a brighter future and surely you would be a great dad. This baby is too innocent to suffer if the parents are too poor afford to look after or to provide the needs of the baby, then there's nothing wrong if you will take the baby from them, by paying them the compensation.

Why buy babies when you can get thm for free. If you buy babies thn you are just encouraging those parents to just keep doing this. IT may not be illegal but it sure is immoral. I understant if there was an accident and a child was a result but that what addoption is for but if people keep giving birth, just because the hope that they may get some money out of it.

Thanks for your opinion. I think that's their real purpose, to make babies and then sell them.. Thanks.
