What do people see in alcohol???

Personally, I've really got no idea why alcohol is such a big deal. Beer tastes like utter crap and leaves you feeling like utter crap afterwards if you drink a lot (at least for me) and wine still has a bitter taste and makes you feel even more crappy.
I don't understand why so many people will bother to consume alcohol, knowing it tastes bad and leaves you drunk and even with a splitting headache at times.

I don't know. I know it's bad for you, but some people actually might like the taste and get addicted to it.

people like alchohol because it makes them feel different than they do before they drink it. some people are bad drunks and even feel worse after they drink than they did before. i think the main reason is because we want to feel something different, good or bad, not that we necesarily want to feel better.

That is the six million dollar question and you dont get Lee Majors as a prize! I have wondered that for years! When I was in high school, the main reason I didn't even think about drinking was I thought "what a waste of money! Get yourself sick, stinking and miserabel and do things you shouldn't be doing - and pay for it! how stupid is that!".
In later years, when I was offered "free" drinks, I tried it... and again...
"how stupid is it to drink this stuff that tastes so horrible!" and the next morning "I can't belive I did such a stupid thing... I deserve to be this sick!"
So, if you find the answer to that question...with or without Lee Majors - let us all know!
