make money by putting popup to website ?

I heard that we can make money from website by putting popups .I wonder how much they can make with this method because putting popup in a website may harm the content of website and make the visitor become angry . Do you think that?

Hi dinhquanghuy, I think those popups can cause viruses and I don't like them and I don't have them on my computer only one or two that comes up from mylot site. Tamara
