Confused what to buy?

I am going to buy a new computer so confused on what vga card should i buy. Nvidia 8600GT seems to match my budget which is 18,000 in my country. But i read in the net that this vga card cannot be used to play games in high resolution. What types of games can this card be used to play in high resolution. I am planning to get a core 2 duo 2.53 or 2.6 with 4 GB ram.

Oho that is not true.I have 8600GT but it has no problem to play in high resolution.It solely depends upon the game are running.And yes as the graphics texture is improving day by day it may run many games as medium mode,or high mode.The ultra mode (like in crysis,Far cry 2) may not available.But 8600GT will support many games to run efficiently.Again you can buy higher card than 8600GT.But it will also require a greater hardware requirement...

Did you mean crysis and far cry 2 cannot be played in high resolution with 8600GT. What about the new GTA, does it support to be played in high resolution.

Go for a 9600GT instead. It only costs a little bit more, and can play those games in high-res.
