I have never had a baby's first ornament for my two kids. I never had one for the grandsons either. Well now I have one for my grand daughter though. Minnie, my daughter, had a photo done and this is the ornament on our tree for Savanna. Do you have ornaments for baby's first Christmas etc? Any special dated ornaments at all?

That is a real nice ornament to add to your collection. She is so cute in that picture. Does Grandpa Bob have a hidden Santa suit hidden somewhere in the back of the closet?

She is so cute like baby jesus. You can put her in a manger. Congrats I am glad that
Savanna has brought joy and happiness in your family this Christmas. We don't have this custom here. But it would be a nice thing to do.

Yes! I have one for all my daughters and my daughter has just got one done of my Grandson. She is giving me it on Wednesday.
I think they are a really nice thing to have of the children.
That one of Savanna is really lovely Bob and I am sure you are very proud of it. I think they look lovely hanging on the Christmas tree.

Very nice. I don't have kids so no baby's first Christmas here... However, my sister did send me a photo charm of my godchild when she was a baby, and I put it on my mini-tree.

No, but my older brother and sister each had a windup tin Santa & sleigh that they weren't allowed to play with.

After my first granddaughter was born I bought a few ornaments for her and since then I have bought an ornament each year for each of my now 5 grandchildren. I figure when the grandkids get out on their own and have their own tree then I will give them their own ornaments. I do put the childs name and the year they were bought for. I have spent anywhere from .79 cents per ornament to 10.00 per ornament, just depends on how things are going each year. I wish this was something I done when my kids were born and I hope that maybe my kids will do the same thing for their grandkids when they have them.
I have never had any with the childs picture in them like you did, it looks great.

Hi GB. No, I don't have any "first" anythings of my kids, but my daughter wanted to know why there were more photos of her brother than of her, claiming that proved we loved him more than her. Might I suggest that you find some infant photos of the boys and have some ornaments made that represent their first Christmases just in case? They may be late, but they might not yet realize they don't have any, so they might not know they didn't.

How lovely! I did have a Baby's First Christmas ball decoration for my first daughter, but sadly, didn't ever get them for the other three children. I'm not even sure where the original one is ... but now you've reminded me, I'll have a hunt around. I'm sure my daughter would love to have it, to add to her own decorations.

That is beautiful GB. What will you and your daughter think of next you guys are very creative. Your daughter took after her father her mind is always working on new things and idea that will become a family memory.
That will last forever. No I haven't an ornament for my children or grand children I do have some baby pictures of them, maybe one day I have them fixed like that.

What a beautiful ornament!
Each of my 4 children had their 1st ornaments, I also got them one each year. Like others with the intention that when they were old enough they would have their own collection for their trees. It worked out nicely as 2 have left the nest and are thankful for those ornaments, they remember putting them on the tree at home each year. I also get a year ornament each year for my own tree. I try to buy one at a place we visit each year or something that represents something in our lives. Last year it was a hunting ornament because it was the first year our son started hunting with us. This year it is a chow dog, representing our dear "Bear" who most likely will not be with us next Christmas.
To some the ornaments on their tree are just that, decorations, but to my family it is a tree of memories.
My favorites are the ornaments the kids made when they were in grade school..some now are mear fragments of noodles and knotted string...but I rememeber those little face so proud to bring momma those wonderful masterpieces!

I actually got that exact ornament for my grandma and mom (and of course one for myself!) this year!
This is my first child and the first grandchild on my side and her dad's side, so EVERYONE was EXTREMELY excited about her arrival!! My mom went out to Target and had professional pictures done with her in this little Santa dress. They didn't end up fitting right in the blue ornament though. :(
I'm a sucker for sentimental things like that. I doubt I'll get a picture for every year, but "first Christmas" was definitely a must!

This is Cute, and a Great idea. I never was able to have kids, but I know my sister did ornaments for her son, and still has quite a few of them, and tons of pictures as well.

Gees, am I late or what. That's a beautiful ornament for a beautiful baby. Yes, I actually have a first baby's Christmas ornament for each of my kids. There both from Precious Moments. My first child's is a baby sitting inside a Christmas Stocking that has the year on it. For my youngest and last is a baby sitting inside a hot air balloon. I tell my kids once they move out, I might give them to put on their own Christmas trees. Then they can start a tradition with their own kids when far into the future that happens.

My grandmother used to buy ornaments that were engraved for my brother and me every year. She bought one each year from the first year we were born. She doesn't buy them for us now though since we are all grown up and out on our own. I did get an ornament for our sons first Christmas and someone gave us a Christmas ornament when I was pregnant with our son that said expecting parents or something like that.

That is a beautiful ornament, the picture and the design itself. I don't think there's an ornament for baby's first Christmas for me, but there is an ornament of me when I think I was in the second grade (or I was 2) (it's been awhile since my grandmother has put up her decorations so I don't know which one it is)... I think I also made her something for the tree. My fiance has a lot of ornaments for the tree (his parent's / his / ours) some he made, some that they've bought through the years. It's fun to put them up and see the various dates on them.
As for the ornament of me, I forgot to say, I don't know if their's a date on it or not.

Hey Granpa Bob!!
My 2 children get a new christmas ornament every year. for example my daughter (7) was really into Alladin and Princess jasmin so her ornament was Alladin. My son (4) Loved the Nightmare before Christmad movie. so His ornament represents that movie. Every year its something different from disney. I have allot of fun with them puttin ornament on the tree and reminding them of what they use to love in th past. Have a great x-mas
