about video cards

I know nothing about my computer, most of the time the system crashes or restarts suddenly. We already sent it back to the one who sold us the unit to have it fixed but after a few days upon its return, I am still experiencing problems with it.
A friend told me that it may due to the video card that is installed. My question is how do I know what video card is installed without having to check ii phsically?

System crash may be problem with your OS and software.Can you please tell me is there any specific application you run every time and the system crashes?? Or any error report generated when the restart complete??

It happens more often when I am playing online games but even when I am just browsing yahoo, or watching videos online, it crashes or restarts.
Basically I always get a blue screen error message like machine check exception, irq not less or equal to...
Appreciate your response to all this...
It may be time to bring it to another technician, I was thinking of having it seen to after the holidays. Just thought I'd look into what the system has and hasn't so I can understand what the technician will say, and how best to avoid this problems better.

That can be a virus infecting your computer install a good anti virus like McAfee or Norton and scan your hard disk.

if i were you, try learning more about your own pc. don't be afraid to check it physically. since it's yours if you break it, it won't be that much of a heartache (just kidding). try opening your pc, then look for a card where you monitor is hooked up, that's your vid. card, try taking it off and return it again. restart and see if the problem persists
