I was at my final critic of one of my design classes and it seemed like my stomach was trying to hold a conversation with the professor. I didn't know what to do I was so embarrassed especially cause it's a three hour critic of my whole class.I guess I should have ate breakfast and actually slept. Do you think this is something people should be embarrassed about and has it ever happened to you?

its truly embarrassing...my husband suffered from this problem....when i married him last yr,i was sooo very surprises to hear that voices from his stomach and it maked me rolled into laughing, but than i found it to be matter of concern as it arises many embarrassing situations.and i tried to find cause behind, now he is fine and voices r in control to large extend....
the growls technically called as borborygmi, caused by the contraction of the muscles of stomach and large and small intestines, due to gas present in stomach, its also a sigh of indigestion...so to overcome it
avoid gaseous foods, you should chew ur food alot make it like a liquid EAT IN A SIP !..prefer olive oil, dont over eat at once, leave space in stomach for digestion process, after ur meal sit on VAJRASAN POSITION (5min)of yoga, also practice PRANAYAM yoga mor/eve(5mins) to remove all toxic gas from ur stomach.
i assure ur life will be better n healthier...

Yes It does arise many embarrassing situations but I'm glad you were able to find the cause and help your Husband. It rarely happens to me but I will definitely use this advise as a way for this never to happen to me again. Thanks so very much! hopefully u've saved me from this particular embarrassing situation repeating itself.

I have to say I feel you pain and that yes this has happened to me. Sometimes I believe my stomach has a mind all its own. If my tummy gets in a talking mood there is no shutting it up if I am hungry it protests it needs food if I ate it protests I fed it the wrong grub so really I am in a no win situation with mine. Whether or not you should be embarassed about it I would say probably not but just like you I was. We can not control the conversation or tummy makes but we sure wish we could.
