i sometimes tend to get annoyed sometimes, and then i regret it..i just feel that old people should have their own peacefull and quiet place to stay, hang out,be with one anohter, share stories...youngsters have their lifes too and it's hard to mix them always..i always speak respectfully with older people but some of them take that for granted and consider us inferior, because we are young and unexperienced and that bothers me also...but i always try to picture my grandma in every old lady i see on the street because mine died and i regret that i wasn't there next to her enough...

I think its just right to respect the elderly. You lose nothing if you show some respect with them no matter what they are, at least you've done your part and thats what really matter. And of course everybody's happy :-)

you really are heart on fire.
you pointed out an issue that old people, should & must be respected.it is not a matter of chance that if one feels in days & share feelings with old,it should be the duty of every man that he from his heart, inner desire should respect them, help them.
make every old people feel that he/she is the part of our own family.they are the one who can help us choose the right path in every field whatsoever.
one shold move ahead in this movement of making world a better place for aged & old people,so that they could live a peaceful live .
it is only their blessings that will work for you.
SO RESPECT,LOVE,CATER EVERY AGED-OLD PERSON.
IT IS THEAPPEAL FROM AN INDIAN TO EVERY MEMBER ON MYLOT.
THANK YOU

Respect cuts both ways but if you shut old people away in some quiet place they loose touch with life. Old people get stimulation through interaction with all ages. They want to pass on their experience in life but the world has changed so much that often their own experiences are not relevant. So if young people get impatient with them and old people become rude. Keep on respecting old people and your grandma will smile upon you wherever she is now.

thanks for your last phrase..as for the rest,i agree with you and we should give it a thought, cause you might be right..but,on the other hand, from my own experience,no matter how much you try to treat old people with the respect and atitude that you are supposed to,and also try to explain some things about us,the youngsters, they refuse any argument that is not theirs, and they still like to think that the life they lived as youngsters was better, and ours is totally outrageous

I am a person who likes to interact and be friends with people of all ages. That makes me friendly with old people as well. And i think most of them deserve my respects because of the fact that they are full of knowledge and wisdom that they are more than willing to share with us. Though there are some old people who take it for granted and misuse it, generally they are very nice and deserve full respect from us youngsters.

yes,we should not generalise but they shouldn't either because they consider any young person same as others from his generation, and we are all different...

Older people are the core for memeories that few people carry. Try to remember, times are so different, and they have a hard time understanding young people today. Maybe it is because we are too impatient when they try, and we push them away........

I always respect old peoples. When i see an old lady on the street she reminds me of my grand mother that i loved so much and she passed away. I always try to help the old persons when they cross the street or when they can`t carry something or when they have other problems. :(

I try to be respectful of them, but when I was in Prague I couldn't stand them. They were nastey and rude and would push you out of the way. Luckily they are not like that heer so I can return to being nice to them.

yessss that is exactly what i am talking about also..in my country, old people are very ruud, they actually push you out of their way, offend you for no reason, and always commment any gesture of yours..i once heard an old lady on the street how she was talking alone as she passed 2 girls that were wearing short skirts..i find that ruud

We will all be old some day so we must remember to respect our elderly. After all they probably do know more than we do. they have seen more and have been around longer than us. Some day we will be them, how do you want to be treated?

yes but they were young also, they should take that into consideration also..they lived their lifes..we will live ours too,and gain wisdom also, they don't need to remind us everyday that they are wiser, they should try to help and opiniond and give advices when they can..but also let us learn from our own mistakes..thats the best way of learning, from our own experience, not others
