the third World War

Just because the WWI involved the Middle East, Europe it was termed that the world is at war with itself! Just because the WWII involved East Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the US it was termed that war is going on throughout the world! Now, you see: After the end of WWII, wars' have been going on throughout the world - in Latin America (not involved in either woirld wars) and Africa (only the Arab-world) ... Now this is what I would call an actual World War - Wars are occuring throughout the world; people are rising up for independence in many countries throughout the world.

I guess it depends on how you define "world war". If by world war, you mean the entire world at war, one could almost say the first gulf war was world war 3 as troops were there from over half the worlds developed nations. One could almost define the current war on terrorism as a world war as again, involves so many nations, though it is a more covert war.

aringwi(69), You have comfortably forgotten a fact. Every body knows that if another world war begins it will end in peace only where there will be no human being on the earth to celebrate the success or enjoy the peacefulness of the world. That is why all world leaders are unianimous in one thing i.e. not to join hands for a world war. This is my opinion.

I hope we will never have a 3rd world war. I think it would be devastating to our Earth. Technology has made the idea of another world war very scary. I think areas of the world would be decimated. I hope that we have learned from past lessons and that we can all move forward together without war.
