Does anybody here use commentaries to help understand Bible better or what tools do you use? How do you study the difficult chapters like Isaiah,Jeremiah, Lamentations for better understanding?

I do use commentaries to understand the Bible but in the end I always go back to the Word of God to confirm the interpretation.
One very good book though that I wished I had so that almost all my questions were answered was the book "Systematic Theology" by Wayne Grudem. This is a great explanation of basic bible doctrines and what the challenges are to those doctrines. This book has been such a blessing in my life and has actually elevated the stature of God's Word into my everyday life.

open your eyes not the bible. The debate is ridiculously contradictory, surely God's pathway for you will enable you to understand the Bible. The stature of God's words shouoldn't need to be elevated because they are God's words.
Could you please explain to me how you became a christian?

Dude!! I'm reading that book right now! It seems pretty good so far, but in the first couple chapters some of his arguments were stupid and/or circular. Also, Grudem is a Calvinist, so I'll probably disagree with him some more as I get into the book more. Are you a Calvinist?

I don't use any tool. Do you believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit? I was baptize and I always rely on the Spirit for His guide and counsel when reading the bible. It is the Spirit that will give you understanding.
