Do you think it is right to seat students according to the grade they have?

What is your opinion about seating students in order of the grade they have received? By this, I mean that the student with the highest grade would have the first seat at the front of the class, down to the student with the lowest grade, the last seat. This does not seem right to me. A teacher might as well seat students according to their parent's income. Grades are a private thing. I don't think this method is effective for motivation, do you?

I am a teacher and this is not a good practice. It uses shame to enforce behavior change or to praise those in the forward rows. It is certainly a disrespectful act, but whether it is one deemed worth of professional reprimand, I do not know. I would never consideer it. Classroom management is hard enough without having the students disrespect you for unjust methods.

I don't think that's right. That is a very elitest thing to do. If you want to sort students why not do it in alphabetical order.

I never knew they seat the students according to their grades! I only remember being seated according to our heights, so the taller ones sit at the back so as not to block the shorter ones.
No, I don't agree with having students seated according to their grades.
