I have been married for 14 years. My husband is a wonderful, loving, suportive man. He is a great father. Hey, I'm crazy about the guy! With that said there is just one thing that just drives me insane. His eating habit. I have been trying to deal with this since the first time we went out to dinner. No, he doesn't use his hands instead or silverware, or lick his plate. What he does is make horrible noises when he eats. It's like after every bit he has to smack his lips. We had icecream the other night, after every bit there was that lip smacking. When he drinks his coffee he slurps it. When he is done eating, now this is when I am about at my wits end, he sucks air between his teeth "to get the food out". I used to try and correct him at each meal, but then i felt bad. After all i wouldnt want to be nagged like that. Clearly he is enjoying his dinner, but is it fair that I cannot enjoy mine with all the noise? Even the kids make comments about it behind his back. They all wanted to suck air through their teeth after dinner and see if he noticed. I thought that would be a bit disrespectful. I love my husband. I dont want to nag him. I also don't want to sweat the small stuff, and this does seem like something small. I also am sure there must be some irritating habit I have that he has not let get to him, although he has yet to bring one up. So, I am just wondering if your spouse has an irritating habit that just makes the hair on your arms stand up? If so how do you handle it? Are you the one with the bad habit? If so do you know your spouse is irritated by it?
