I'm Giving Them Something For Nothing?

i belong to several survey companies and have made some extra money to give my opinion about new products. but more often than not, i think my time is being wasted by these companies that are gaining at least some info. from me and not compensating me anything. here's a typical survey taking experience: Survey Company: "We would like to ask you some questions about some products you may use." Me:"YAAAAAY!!! i get to use my brain!" Time Elapsed:10 seconds SC:"First, let's find out a little about you.....Age?...Gender?...Education?...Location?...etc.....about 20 or 30 questions..." Me:Ha, this is easy money. TE:3 minutes SC:"Now we would like to show you a product and ask you some questions" Me:"well, i would never buy that thing, but I'll answer your silly questions." TE:12 minutes SC:"Now we would like to show you another product you may use." Me:"hmmmmm....this is taking longer than i thought.......i hope i don't miss lunch." TE:27 minutes SC:"We're sorry, you don't fit the profile of the type of people we're looking for to take this survey...please let us waste your time with another survey at a later time...thank you...bye-bye" Me:"WHAT THE FU.....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!.......SLAM!!!(sound of computer hitting the wall) TE:39 MINUTES OF MY LIFE I WILL NEVER GET BACK!!! ok, ok, the above was just a dramatization to illustrate my point, and i've been paid many times for taking surveys, but do you ever find your self taking a survey...and you actually think you're taking the survey because you've already made it through dozens of questions only to find out "you don't qualify"??? shouldn't we get at least partial payment??? sheeeeesh.....what a waste of time.

haha thats just the way it is!! some times it is a big waste but if your like me and cant work a dollar for a long period of time is worth it and unfortunately you will never know if you can get ANY money unless you take the time to find out.. thats why i try to do 3 at once so i get through them faster and if i dont qualify for one i still feel like i accomplished something if i do the others

the ones that sometimes pay and some times just has contest entries wont send you as many money ones if you dont do a few stupid contest ones i have figured out.. i know i was only doing ones that paid and then i stopped getting as many. i started doing some contest ones and started getting more money ones.. so every once in awhile squeeze in some and also some of the non paying ones are like screeners to paying ones in the future..

I too have suffered the dreaded "you do not qualify" ordeal myself more than a few times then I finally gave up on the surveys. It is very frustrating to waste time thinking you are going to earn a few bucks doing this survey and all of a sudden you dont qualify. I felt for a while there that they must be looking to typical families to answer thier questions because once I entered my age and that I have not children I automatically an disqualified.

yeah, i also have tried giving different answers....but it doesn't seem to help. i have a couple of survey sites that i'll stick with. my favorite is Pinecone Research.....they pay $3.00 per survey and they usually send you whatever you're doing the survey about.

I may tell you that some of the survey sites are just scams and were fooling other people around.

It appears that you don't know how to qualify for surveys. When they asked you: SC: "Now we would like to show you another product you may use." You should have checked all of the products. The reason is because one of the them is what the survey will be about. So if you don't select that product, they don't want your opinion. I've been doing surveys for years now and I have learned how to qualify for almost every survey.
