Yes I am talking about my rental car. I talked with the body shop once again today. My Buick is in the paint shop today. It is all repaired now. I should be getting it back possibly Wednesday but hopfully no later than Thursday. It's been 2 weeks since my accident. This has been the longest I've ever waoited for body work to be done. I have missed my BIG SHINY SILVER BUICK. It will feel strange being in a car that fits me as opposed to my knees in my face as I drive. How long have you waited for body work to be done on your car? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I am happy to hear that you will be getting your Big Shiny Silver Buick back. I know you missed your Silver Bullet. And you and the family can take a ride in it this Christmas season. You can give your knees a rest. I know about those knees mines hurt all night last night. My dream was of someone rubbing them for me. I have only had one car in an accident and it was totaled. I had to get a brand new car and by the way it was silver too.

I've been wanting to cruise checking out Holiday lights on the houses etc. I just hate driving the rental too much especially in the snow. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Good Lord Bob, How tall are you? My son is 6'3" and owned a Toyota...he could not put in a seat cushion but did ok in it? I personally have always liked Toyotas. Is your being cramped your only complaint with it?

My mother had to have body work done on her car one time and it seems like it took about a week and a half or two weeks. She didn't have to get a rental car since we had a car and she was living with us. I know you will be so happy to get your car back.

So its been two weeks already? I know to you its probably been a long time, well at least they are almost done with your car, just waiting to get painted. I hope you get it soon, so you can get out of that ugly little red beast...lol. I think I waited a week for my car to get done, give or take a day or so.

At the most I have waited four days. But I didn't have such extensive damage, nor did I get a rental car... Glad to hear you'll get your car back soon. Isn't it strange to suddenly have to drive a different type of car, and a smaller one at that?

haha I love Toyotas. My parents had a 1982 toyota tercel and when it broke down my mom bought a 1998 toyota tercel. I bought a 2005 black toyota echo. They are much better for the environment. The longest I've had to wait was 1 week.

Hi Grandpa Bob, Not been very active this month so missed the accident bit but as you are posting guess all is ok and that it was just bodwork on your Buick that needed fixing. I think that if this workshop does a great job it it well worth waiting for and I do hope you get back within the next 48 hours and have leg room again. I have never had to have bodywork done on a car so can't answer that question. Huggles. Ellie :D

It was a mess. Over $8,000 in damages. A $500 deductible is all so that's the good news sort of. I miss MY car badly. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I am really surprised they gave you a Toyota. They usually give you the same make as your Buick. Well that's how they work it up here in Manitoba anyway. Or pretty darn close to it. The longest my fiance and I waited for a vehicle for work done was almost a year. Yes you heard right a frigin year. We were rebuilding an engine but I know it doesn't take that long to rebuild an engine but that is how long this guy took. Glad you are getting your car back soon.

We had hail damage on a car a few years back and it took a little over a month for them to fix all the panels and windows. I don't remember what kind of rental car we had but it was a normal sized one. My husband is too tall for little cars so he wouldn't like your rental car at all I'm sure. I hope you get your car back Wednesday!

Hi there Grandpa Bob. I don't technically own a car, but i have had to wait for my dads car to be fixed a few times as he changed cars quite often when i was younger. He was a full time mechanic at that time, and liked to buy used cars, repair them and sell them, with some benefit of both money and the experience to use another car. I think the longest period was when he had this Opel Olimpia from 1959 that took him about 3 weeks to get fixed - of course, i had no rental to replace it with, so i used the conventional ways like sub, tram and bus to get where i needed to.
