Christmas Stockings

What kind of Christmas stockings do you use? Handmade, your own socks? Store bought? Do you buy a new stocking every year? What do you stuff them with?
I usually have the store bought ones. Every other year I buy new ones because it seems someone always loses theirs from the year before. I would like to make our own some year. Santa stuffs them with trinkets and candy, usually a juice box and a granola bar for breakfast.
I remember as a child we would just hang our own stockings from our drawer up. My kids thought that was funny until I told them they had no idea how far a tube sock could stretch! Our stockings were filled with nuts and fruit and hard candy. Unwrapped candy and it seemed that every year one piece ,at the toe would be stuck forever.
The stocking was always a favorite part of Christmas morning for me.

We actually do a combination of both. We will buy the stocking and design our own. The kids love to do this and it is really nice to pull out the stockings from the past Christmas' and see how their artistic talent has improved

I still use the stocking that my grandmother made for me 30 years ago. When I got married, she made one for my wife, so needless to say, hers is in a little better shape! I suppose I should buy a new one, and have said that for the past decade, but I just can't make myself do it...

I made them for most of my family....when my son was engaged to a gal I made her one then she broke off the engagement and he married someone else so I quit....I have them for all my kids..with their names on it. Now my daughters don't live around here so I bought four....for my son's family and me....they have snowmen on them. I fill their stockings with things like Fast food gift certificates...lottery tickets...gas cards....and other little things....Baby I fill hers with tights....and other trinkets...

I buy stockings from the store. I try to reuse it every year untill it wears out or so. I am planning to stuff my sons with hot wheels, socks, sippy cup and maybe a few sweets.

I have store bought stockings and I continue to use them until I need to buy new ones. The childrens stockings are the only ones that I fill.
I fill their stockings with candy, fruit, and a small gift.
