The Meaning of Christmas

What does Christmas mean to you. Of course everyine likes getting gifts, but for me it is about so much more. I enjoy the whole Holiday season. I like the smell in the air and the pretty lights that are displayed all over town. but the things that mean the most 2 me is:
1. celebrating the birthday of my savior
2. being able to spend time with family and friends and enjoying a fabulous meal together.
this is the one time of year that everybody puts their differences aside and and unites. kinda makes you wish it was Christmas all year long.

Amen to your comments. Christmas is and has to be so much more than spending time in the malls. It has to be more than receiving and giving gifts. Granted, the wise men when the came to the manger and offered their gifts to the Lord Jesus was the day that Christmas began. It has been a tradition for centuries and it will never end.
However, I love the idea that we can spend some time with our family and reflect on what Christmas is all about. You are right that it should be about the lights and the smell of Christmas in the air. I enjoy the music as it has great meaning as well. Christmas means being with my Christian brothers and sisters and witnessing with them to others regarding how Christmas came about.
What is interesting are the statistics of conversion to Christianity. More people convert at Christmas and Easter.

I am finding it all a bit stressful at the moment as I think I am having too many for dinner and I want it all to be perfect for everyone. Hopefully though in a week or so I will calm down.
Christmas is a lovely time of the year and I get to see family that I have not seen in a while. It is nice to all sit down for a meal and share the day together.
I love Christmas lights and decorations. They really all seen beautiful and make it really nice.
Yes for one day it is really nice to have peace and this should really happen much more often in this world. Take care CCShiflet71

Christmas means to me is a very good question. I did a good article on Associated content about the reason for the season.
So to be honest Christmas is a chance to welcome and greet the birth of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.
The other reason why I love Christmas is that people seem to become a little more polite than normal.
