I hate drinking water, I hate the smell of water, I hate the look of water, and I really hate the taste of water. I am the type of person you would never catch taking a drink of plain water. Unless of course it was the last thing on earth to drink. I always have to have a cup of juice or pop or milk. I try to have a glass every now and then but I just can't bare to drink it down. I have tried the filtered water and bottled water but it just doesn't cut it for me. Do you drink water? I know somewhere someone told me to drink 8 glasses a day. Well I can't even drink 4 glasses of beverage a day never mind 8 of just water. My bladder would explode. Have you lost any weight by cutting down on the other drinks and trying to get your eight glasses a day?

I'm like you, I hate water and have for many many years. I know it's good for me and all but I have a terrible time drinking it. Now if I'm working hard and/or sweat a lot then I'll drink it and it does feel really good going down but to drink it out of the blue, isn't happening. I hate the taste of it or the lack thereof. Besides, all it does it go to my stomach and it'll make me feel like I'm floating.... ugh!

hi keely.
plain water is enough for me although i drink bottled or filtered water. drinking your eight glasses of water is really beneficial. although, one must remember that most of the food that we take is made up of a percentage of water so even if you don't get your eight glasses of water, that really won't pose a serious problem at all.
also is i just hope you realize that there are parts in the world where water is scarce and people actually die of dehydration. let's not take something so basic yet so important for granted.
happy mylotting! cheers!!!

That is true. But I do also do my part in sponsoring a child so they can eat, drink, have medications, and go to school. But I never thought of it that way. Where I should be blessed to have clean water. Even tho I'm involved in sponsoring I never thought of it like that.

that's great to know that you are sponsoring a child's needs as well. i also support a number of charitable organizations but those closest to me are greenpeace and a local organization that supports abandoned children. i encourage friends to help out either by providing financial and material aid or by being there and doing charity work and helping in the logistics.
cheers!!!

I think my smell thing with water is... I lived in thunder bay all my life for 20 years we had lake superior water which was really clean and fresh and yummy. But then I moved to winnipeg where the water stinks like fish and chlorine, and is making my skin so so dry. I use body wash and soap in the shower but i still come out with this odd smell. Then when I dry I smell fine. Same with when I do laundry wet laundry here smells like rotten sewers. After it's dry it smells so dang fresh.

It kinda depends on where you live. Water picks up the tastes of a lot of the chemicals in it. We have very clean drinking water where I live. I actually enjoy water and have been drinking it regularily for years.
A co worker of mine is in the same boat as you. She really hates water. She never drinks it. I find that when I cut all beverages other than water out I do loose weight. Most other drinks have a lot of calories in them.

Well I know from experience that every time I take a pop diet and cut it out completely I can easily loose up to 10 pounds. Pop is so bad for me.

Water is the best thing we can take. A lot of people think that other drinks (even those that contain water) do the same job, but really most of us are depriving ourselves of it. It has been in the news a lot lately about how good it is and even is helping diseases by drinking a lot of it a day.
I used to hate drinking it also, but I have been drinking it a lot more now as I have read a lot of good stories online about it. I put ice in mine and buy the bottled and use a filter and it tastes a lot better.
Take care and I suppose if you hate it that much you cannot really force it into yourself though.

You can tell when you need to drink more water. Look at your Urine if it is dark than you know you need to drink more water.

You would think tap water and all this other water is just full of chemicals and what not. Like so it makes anything we drink full of it just like everything else. I used to live 45 minutes from a natural spring. My family would load up on the cooler bottles and fill them then use them in the house. Every Sunday it was a drive to go fill bottles just for the fresh water.

Ok, I can understand every other thing but... has water got a smell? I've never actually noticed that. I wouldn't say I love water but I can never say I hate it. If you hate water, it means you can't even stand drinking it when you are thirsty and we all know that when one is thirsty, water is always the most appropriate thing.

I always look for the alternative. Or carry juice packets in my purse and coat and all my gym bags. When you hate it as much as I do you come prepared.

Hello,Keely! Human body is 50-75% water, depending on a person's age.Because of our daily work schedule we lose some portion of water and to maintain the balance we have to drink enough water.Water helps regulate and maintain temperature of the body.Water transports nutrients and oxigen and removes the waste products and toxins. It moistens and lubricate our mouth, eyes, nose, hair, skin, joints and the digestive tract. If your body does not get enough water you risk dehydration, elevated body temperature, fatigue, decrease mental and physical performance and heat related diseases. So it is prescribed that we must drink at least two to three liters of water daily.thanx.

I used to hate water too. Then, my mother, who also hated water, came down with a very serious and painful disease of the bladder. It can be attributed to a lifetime of dehydration. I have started to drink more water now. I believe I am up to about 5 glasses a day. I just put a ton of ice in the glass. The colder the better! It makes it easier for me to swallow.

You hate water? Really? I guess you have not really studied what water is.
I am an athlete and I drink some 3 liters of alkaline water every single day. I avoid drinking soda pop, or softdrinks as these are called in some countries, and even fruit juices. All these drink preparations are simply made with the water that you hate, mixed with sugar and artificial flavoring to make them taste better. I would rather eat the fresh fruits or make my own juice from the fruit. No sugar please. Thank you.
The earlier posts on the benefits of water are true. I am an ultra-marathoner who drinks four liters of alkaline water during a marathon race.

I'm assuming you live in a city, in which case what you're drinking under the name of water is processed, polluted with chemicals, possibly cut with treated sewage depending on where you live, and indubitably horrible. I wouldn't drink it unfiltered or unboiled either.
I, on the other hand, live in a rural area, and although we have town water on tap, we use that only for washing. What we drink comes out of our own water tank, pure rainwater. We do filter it, because sometimes little beasties come down the tap too lol, and the tatse is so different to town water that they might be two different things.
That said, I don't think I have ever drunk my 8 glasses a day, I'm a coffee addict. But 2 or 3 is usual.

One week I tried to go on a water diet and all i drank for the day was water since I was trying to do the whole eight glasses a day thing too. By the end of 3 days I couldn't take it anymore and finally raided the fridge for the mango juice I had bought before the beginning of the week. I know that water is suppose to be healthy, but when I taste it, it makes me feel pretty sick. Do you know that you can get water poisoning by reusing the same bottle over and over again. That nearly happened to my mom when she tried the water diet.

I am not a water lover either. I think it became a fad, when people started walking around with water bottles, and everyone thought that was a cool thing to do. It is good to drink water, but there is no nutrition value in water. I know a lady who you will never see without a water bottle in her hand and she is still fat, of course the sugar content in other beverages is what causes you to gain weight. Your metabolism plays a big part in it too.

I hated water too but if you start out small..you'll develop a taste for it.You'll find yourself wanting it more until you don't mind it at all.Water is supposed to help you feel fuller when you drink it thus keeping you from eating more.It also helps woth cutting out the sugar you get from sodas. It cleanses you too. I have not tried to lose weight with it but I know people who have and lost 20 pds in 3 or 4 months.
