My Only Suggestion

Sure there are a lot of great myLot enhancement suggestions floating around but I only have one. I need a "keep an eye on" choice on discussions. There have been too many times that I see a discussion that I want to reply to but am diverted away from for one reason or another. By the time I get back to myLot, I can't find it anywhere. Give me this button and I will click the discussions that I want to come back to and they will be right there to comment on.

This happens to me too. I have got round it by creating a folder in my bookmarks called 'MyLot later' and I save all the discussions there which I want to return to. It happens a lot because, like now, I am at work and I can't always stay on long enough to respond everywhere that I see an interesting topic. Hope this helps and happyposting!

Great idea. And since I use Firefox bookmarking is easy. I'm going to set up that folder right now.

Yes I know what you mean on that as I'm busy responding to all my friends and so on. I see something and I go no first finish with all my friends and then go and do the other one well now the other one is goneand I'm back to getting lost. Your friend onlydia. Have a great and fun filled day.

I find myself sometimes just surfing around myLot looking for a discussion that perks my interest. This would save so much time and effort.

Yes, I agree. I have often had the same experience, and find it so frustrating. Having said that there probably is a way. I am not a technical person, and often are too tired to read a long list of instructions, and I guess a lot of myLotters are the same. A simple instruction that would enable you to return to a recent page you viewed.

A button would make it so easy. And then, there could be a tab that is names "Saved Discussions".

Sounds good to me. I'm not very good with IT, so something simple would be great.

I love that idea. I tend to put them in a bookmark toolbar on Firefox (just drag the mylot icon next to the URL down to the toolbar). Then when I am done with the conversation, I delete the bookmark. It would be a bit more convenient if it cold be done within mylot.

Hopefully admin will take a look at the idea. I sent a message to them and they replied, saying that they would get back to me. Thanks for the comment

I like Druscilla's idea. A "saved discussion" it would help, I have a discussion that a friend and I somewhat have fun chatting on while also talking about the subject on this one thread, and I have to take like ten minutes to find the discussion.

That's the problem with me. If the key word search doesn't return the discussion and it is taking too long to locate, then I give up and move on.

That is the best suggestion that I have seen yet. I have also run into this problem. There was one discussion that I wanted to respond to but I wanted to do some research first so I could give an intelligent answer to the question asked but I knew if I moved off that page I would lose the discussion. My solution was to make a reply saying that it was a good question and I would get back to them later.

I agree. What a wonderful place this myLot community is. I am also setting up a bookmark folder.

It may be good idea. Tags and discussion search are not always working. I have easy days and difficult days, when I am not able to be on Mylot for many days. It would be nice to go back and respond to discussions I like..... HUGS

This is a very good point. I don't always get to all the discussions that I see for the day and once you lose the discussion, it's as good as gone (so hard to search for).

OMG, I can't tell you how many times I have answered a discussion with, "I'll get back to you later" just so I can find the discussion later. Your idea is a fantastic one.

Thanks I've done that a couple of time too but I don't want people to think that I'm just here for the post count.

I like your idea. I've had that happen many times. I find one that I really want to respond to, but for some reason or another I have to go away from the computer. And then I can't find it again, even though I use as many key words as I can in the search part of the site.

It happens to me often when I am searching discussions with no responses. It the discussions receive a comment before I get back to it, I find it really hard to track down and I give up and move on feeling unhappy that I wasn't able to add my comment. Oh well, I still really enjoy myLot.

I have 3 ways of keeping up with discussions...(1) I bookmark important discussions, (2) With Firefox I have a new tab for discussions I like & don't close it until answered, (3)On my notifications, I go back & mark as unread the ones that I didn't get to. Actually, #2 with Firefox works best for me!!!

I use Firefox for myLotting but I also use my cell phone. This is where a button would really help me.

That is good idea and mylot admin should consider. I think it is a common problem for members that going back to a particular discussion, may be few days, old becomes a tiresome job and sometimes almost impossible to find again.

Thank you :) I briefly looked for a way to contact admin so I could propose this suggestion but I couldn't find it. I'll look again.

there is not any such a button.but you can remember the usename of the discussion and next time when you enter the mylot ,you are able to go to his discussion at once without any delay

That's a good idea also though my problem is that I need a way to save the discussions so if I forget the username of discussion then I can still get back to it.

This happens to me all the time I see many discussions I want to respond to and then I realise I don't have time to answer all. This is a good idea, though there are other solutions for this. You can just bookmark the page on your browser (like I do all the time). It's easier this way. Of course, only until mylot creates this option.

I also just noticed that each discussion has an ID in the url. If I keep a list of these IDs then I can just plug them in to another discussion's url and it will go to the one I want . Ummm, did that make sense?
