Eskimo kisses

I've been sitting here on MyLot and my 2 year old son crawled up on my lap. He sat here and fell asleep while I was typing. He looks so cute, fast asleep. I just couldn't help but start giving him eskimo kisses and then kissing his forehead. He just looks so sweet and peaceful. It is moments like these that make a mommy feel so blessed.

Moments like these are the reasons I rarely have bad days. My daughter is 9 months old now and is so cute in everything she does. Oh my goodness I just can't imagine life without her.
Everyday when I'm typing she always climbs up on me to cuddle up or play, it depends on her mood.
She walks and runs with her hands out saying words like "bye bye, and ma ma."
She's so short and started walking when she was 8 months. A lot of people that sees her walking would say "she's so short to be walking, how old is she?"
These are the good old days huh?

Yes they are the good old days and they really don't last long enough. My mom is always telling me to enjoy these days because they will be gone before I know it. The first 2 years have went by so fast too, so I know she is right. Thanks for the comment! Happy MyLotting!

That seemed like a hallmark momet for you... and i think that is very sweet... kids look the best when they are sleeping... so us mothers cannot keep ourselves from kissing our young ones... i always do that at night... but always careful because i might waken my daughter up...

I know what you mean. The world stands still for moments like that, I truly believe it. Oh, how I love eskimo kisses, smelling them while they sleep, holding them as if you where still actually one being. And the little sounds they make when they sleep...... like angels they are!

how funny, my babies love to eskimo kiss! Me and my boys are cuddlers. I love when their small little hands wrap around your neck or when they grab your face to kiss you. They make all the bad in life go away! Those are all the moments I will cherish for the rest of my life. Thanks for making me think of these moments.

That is indeed a very cute moment, singlemommy.
I don't have any children yet but I have experienced moments like these with my two-and-a-half-year old foster brother. He can be so cute at times.
We can have a blast together in the tub. Just the other day he was able to blow bubbles for the very first time, his smile when he figured he could do it was just precious.

Singlemommy, your mother is right. These years will fly by. Suddenly you will be looking at your children and wonder where have the years gone. I speak from experience as I have a son that will be going away to college in August and I am not ready to let him go. It seems as though it was just yesterday when I was holding him and cuddling with him and thinking much like you of how I could never make it through without him. Now I know he will still be around but I also have to come to the realization that he will soon have a family of his own and mom and dad will no longer be the important focus of his life. He has grown to be a young man that I am proud to say I took part in raising. I couldn't ask for a more pleasant and respectful young man. He has spent the majority of his life participating in sports and being a team leader and for that I am so grateful. I believe those things have helped to mold him into the man he will soon be.

I don’t know what exactly the term ‘eskimo kisses’ means…nevertheless I do the same with my 9yr old! Now don’t gasp…I know he is a big boy now but he’s grown up so fast I could not really hold on to those times which slipped out of my fist like fine sand. Saddest part is I cant even remember those days very clearly and whenever I see any baby, toddler, child I feel like picking them up and smothering them with kisses. So whenever my son is sleeping with that utterly peaceful look which only babies and kids can have I guess, I creep up to him and kiss him as much as I dare to…he’s become very sensitive these days…specially he’s now ‘growing up’ you know and feels very silly if mommy wants to hug and kiss him! Oh boy! (sigh)

Children and their innocence can make anybody's day. We have been blessed with children and God keep them safe and happy. Such moments are to be cherished. Give a bigggggggg hug from me to him.

Yes, these are precious moments that I treasure as well. It seems like when they are quiet and asleep they are so peaceful and sweet. They look as if they could not hurt a fly! I have never heard of eskimo kisses! But, I have planted quite a few on may kids! Enjoy your moments as a mother!
