I don't know mine all personally. I added a lot of them because we would be going to university together in the fall so it was nice to have some friends of people all over the country going to the same school as me.
DO you know all your friends on Facebook personally?

No, but I do know most of them because the majority were the ones I know since elementary school up until now. Some of them are co-workers and there are several from different discussion forums I've known throughout the years. But I don't add any random friends like I do with my blog.

I know most of mine. I have some that I have met through other friends and don't know them other than that, but I do know most of mine personally. I added a few just because they were nice and I added a few because we had something in common.... Myspace friends are a different story. I have people on there that I have no clue who they are or why I have them.

Yes, I know them all. I only added friends whom I really know them personally, otherwise I'll ignore the friend request. Some requests are suggested from friends, and I'll always check with my friends first, then only I'll add them to my friend list.

Myspace is my 'anyone and everyone' social networking utility, where anyone who isn't trying to sell me something generally gets accepted. I only use it to keep in touch with people I do know and to track bands that I really enjoy listening to, so it's not like I mind people having access to either site.
Facebook tends to be for more nostalgic purposes, though. It's where I keep track of people I went to high school with, people that I spent my first couple of years of college with and no longer really see... It's my medium for keeping in touch. I don't add people on Facebook that I don't know.
...except for that one guy... :P
But he was a good friend of a good friend, so I think it's acceptable for him to serve as my one exception.
