Lets admit it (haha) , sometimes we get presents we don't really need or have too much of. Do you set them aside and see if you can pass them on to someone else in the future?

Hi,
I hate to give away presents that I have got from others because they remind me of the person and their generosity and love, and the fact that they bought it with their money for me would mean that it is lack of consideration on my part to just put it aside and give it away, even if I do not want or need or have too much of it. I am not saying anything against giving away gifts, I am just a sentimental and emotional person with a lack of love in my life that I will hold on to anything that others give me. And these are just what I feel is right, and what is right to my mind may be different for you so please do not take offence at my saying that it a lack of care to give away gifts. Material things are not as important as love, so as long as you continue loving the person who gave the ift to you and are grateful to him/her for it, why not give the gift to another person who will be able to use it better and thus do the gifter's money more justice? Thank you. From,

Just recently... i was given two wallets... and i don't really need them anymore... so i am thinking of giving my one as a gift... but they are nice and i really like them... so i will really have to think about it...
I do recycle gifts... especially when i was still a teacher and i would recieve a lot that i do not have any use for... so i just give them away to people i know who will appreciate them more...

yes, I do this, I usually do this to gifts of the same kind or those given by not so close people to me or something I won't really use but I know is useful to some other people. I don't think it's bad. At least what was given was put into good use and not just set aside.

I haven't really done that any time I recall, except for when I was much younger and a relative I hadn't seen for a while got me some hair accessories for Christmas. (At the time I had -very- short hair.)
I thought I was justified in that regard, but otherwise I can't say that I've deliberately re-gifted someone. Generally I'll keep things I'm given even if I can't use them, and if I can find someone that needs it later I'll pass it along, but I haven't ever deliberately had an instance where I thought 'Susie gave me that, but I think Janet would like this more than what I got her, so I'll give her that instead.'

I've actually never done it. I know people do that usually, but what if the person goes how's that thing of yours I bought you going, Can I have a look at it now?
:O Though I guess that is quite rare.
