A good listener has alot going for them. They can actually know the ins and outs of a situation- why? Because they listened. They can know the needs of a company or customer. Why? Because they listened. Yes, I can see alot of positive rewards for a good listener.

For achievinng success, to be a good listener, is one of the most qualities. I believe that I cannot be a good talker till I am a good listener. I believe that I am a good listener and I do listen to others properly and attentively, else I won't be able to solve their problem or some suggestions, if required. I am patient and careful in listening to others and I give othes ample opportunity to pour out their feeling. I first try to listen to them very very patiently and after listening and understanding what others want to convey, I start the talking. I am more of a listener and love to listen to others, I know now a days everyone wants to talk, however, no one has the time to listen to others. Therefore, giving a patient hearing to someone dear to you, definitely cheers him up and give him a kind of satisfaction that somebody has listened to him.

The statement "A good listener always succeeds" is true in certain situations and not in all situations. Since this is an open discussion site it is hoped you would not react negatively to what I have to say.
The validity of the statement depends on what we listen to and what we want to succeed in. There are speakers who have the gift of the gab. Whenever they speak others listen to them closely and accept whatever they say. But the content of their speech may be encouraging people to do things which are destructive in the long term.
However if we see success as a general term comprising positive and negative elements then the statement holds true.
All the best,

..and have You succeeded? I agree to this statement only partly. It may be so and it may be not.
A good listener can hear the information what is said and what remains unsaid during the conversation. And information, as we all know, is POWER. If he knows how to use this power, then: YES, a good listener will succeed.
