My Dog Gave Birth To Five Puppies Last Week!!!

My dog gave birth to five puppies last week, that was her first time, and it was a surprise to me. They are four males and one female. Over three weeks she has been preparing for where she will give birth and nurse the young ones and she created a hidden dark spot behind my flower pot in my garden. The very day she give birth, I was looking for it only to discover her hidding in that prepared location with the puppies, it really surprised me. If you want any of the puppies you can PM me. Is it common for dog to deliver as many as five for the first time?

yes, depending on the size and breed of the dog... my dog had a litter of 10 for her first litter. That is probably a normal size litter for a dog her size. First or second litters don't have anything to do with it.

Congrats on your dog giving birth to the pups! What breed of dog is your dog? I know that I was working on getting a breeding pair of English Mastiffs, so that we could have the pitter patter and whine of feet in the house again. But they are very very expensive! I would be careful who you give the puppies to though because so many people are mean to dogs and say they wont be only to be mean and mistreat them.

Yes, actually many people mistreat dogs, like my wife hates my dogs and i used to frown at her over such. The pups are doing well.
