Hello Everyone,
I am looking to gather some new information on work at home time management skills. For those of you that do have a career at home, what steps do you take to manage your time appropriately? If you have children, how do you manage to get your work done, and be a parent at the same time? Thank you, in advance, for any input that you may have on this subject.
Thanks,
Angie Shiflett

Ah, if I could just control time. Since working from home doesn't have the scheduled day to day priorities that say working from an off site office does, i.g. commuting, breaks, lunch, its hard to set a schedule that won't be interuppted at home. Since I home school my kids, and currently work a part time gig, I find that setting a flexible schedule is better than just working when there is a break. I try to set an amount of time for school, if we are going to go over then we stop and pick it up later, if I'm writing then I set a block of time and let those around me know what I'm going to be doing for that amount of time. Not all days are as strutured, sometimes schedules bleed into each other but if you stick with a block of time you can get their stuff done and your work done too. And don't work when you don't have to, there has to be some play time or the kids will suffer, they need their parents as much as we need them to be kids. Hope that helps.
