is your computer slow very slow indeed?

Try this out go to run start-run(click on it) 1]type "%temp%" and press ok delete all the files from here 2}this time type "prefetch" delete all the files (deleted theses files from recyclebin too) now your computer will work faster i know it will.Just try iy

Well, this is only marginally effective. If you use CCleaner as previously advised, you'd get better results and in a more automated manner. Another thing to help you speed up your system is to disable startup items that you don't need via msconfig.

Yes, I have done this many times and it has worked wonders for me. I also use CCcleaner, a free download, which clears so much unnecessary stuff, its unbelievable, and it runs a lot fater and smoother afterwards.

jason is right. try ccleaner. according to benchmarks from cnet, deleting prefetch files doesn't really speed up your pc that much, round 2 to 4% the most. i bet you only see this tweak in the net and didn't even bother trying for yourself

yes u can increase the computer speed by deleting those temporaary folders..you can also do this for your internet files also go to tools in the menu bar and select internet options and there select view objects then delete those temporary internet folders..then u can increase the speed..i think it works for internet explorer and different path used for mozilla and other browsers..
