I do experience just this morning. Oh my goodness, at winter time. Good we don't have snow today and our temperature is 60 but still we have an overcast with scattered showers and maybe thunderstorm later. Hubby has no other time since we have appointment tonight and he is working during the day. I can't just go alone because I am not driving yet. We are just fortunate that Walmart grocery store is o[en 24 hours.
This is my first time to shop very early in the morning. But I find it peaceful.. hahaha the counter is not busy.. but I don't like to do it often specially during winter. What about you? do you like to go shopping early in the morning while others are still in bed? LOL.

Before it was like that! But now no more! The big supermarkets here are offering fresh veggies and fruits already and of better quality than those in the public markets. In fact there are veggies and fruits here that can't be found in the public markets. So although a little higher in price, I prefer to shop either at the Landmark or SM supermarkets where they are offering fresh choices. I feel safer and more comfortable there than in the messy and crowded public market we have in our place.

Oh!! really? well,, for me, I like to be in a crowded area.. hahaha it's fun in there but I wouldn't go there at night..at noon time or early afternoon. when I was Studying at AIIAS Silang Cavite, We usually go to the Silang market early morning. We have no other choice. There is no big superstore there to buy fresh veggies.. hahah It is funny because AIIAS is an international school and many foreigners are also shopping in that big open market. I love it because there are lots of fresh fruits in variety and they are cheaper than in the super market.

I used to go with my mom to buy fresh vegetables at 5:30 in the morning, barely minutes after they are delivered to the store. It was always fun, especially in the winter with all the fog around. However it wasn't very peaceful, since we live in an area where the majority of the people are retired Air Force and Navy. People who are in a habit of getting up early every single day! So the counters were always quite busy even at those early hours!

Here it's difficult to get anybody to help you at the deli counter that early in the morning. At Kroger it's closed and at Walmart I have to hunt them down elsewhere in the store, lol. Yeah, it's nice, relatively empty and no long lines anywhere. But it's hard to get out of bed that early;)

Hmmmnnnnn definitely it's very impossble for me/us go shopping that early. Am still very much in bed that time; I usually get up at 9 or 10am specially now that am just a stay-home plain housewife. We usually shop for groceries at Friday either morning or noon time but never when its 6am. But I guess it's a cool time for doing so.....its peaceful and not crowded specially in the counter sections.

That's right!! very peaceful!! hahaha but I am still sleepy honestly!! but I have no choice. Hubby will not fore me to go with him but I want to see to it that everything I need for cooking will be purchased and if i will not go am sure, he will not be able to buy everything I need. Well, it's nice anyway,it did not take us a long time.

Usually I got o the wet market four in the morning. Because all chicken meats and pork meats are fresh. Especially fishes fresh harvest from the sea. It's cool but cold to go the market. It's more convenient for me. Try it once. So that you can experience it. Thank you.

hello Bebs08,
Why not, if only there is a grocery open here in our place as early as six in the morning. I'll do that too, to avoid the long line in going to the counter. This way I can go home early and saves time.
But then it's impossible for me to do it here for most groceries here if not all opens nine in the morning. Best thing to do, I guess is to have a grocery three to four days before or after payday. So the counter will not that busy.

Hi friend,
In our country there is no problem at what ever time we go.Here we can sustain the coldness with a sweater and we have shops all round.Whenever we feel like going out and take grocery,we can move out from morning till night. No need of getting up early and going out to get our groceries.
Have a nice day

No, I'm not a early morning person, I'm one of those others who are still in bed..lol. I grocery shop in the middle of the day when everybody else is there, I don't know why I haven't learned my lesson to go at another time when its not so busy, you can go late at night and its not that busy, we have a 24 hr. Walmart too. I did go shopping early the day after Thanksgiving, I got up at 4:15 am, and got to walmart about 4:40 am, and was home by 7:30 that morning, I don't think I will ever do that again, but of course it was a different situation, and there were alot of people looking for bargains that day. I didn't get run over tho..

I have gone grocery shopping early in the morning, it took a bit longer because I wasn't rushed and it was good to get it out of the way so I could mark a huge item of my to do list. I like to shop on the odd hours anyway, I window shop when the stores are closed and I shop in the mornings at the grocery store too.

My goodness your life in America is very different from mine. But I could almost picture how it goes with the way you described it. Imagine shopping at that early time and that cold! Whooowwwww! Shopping centers here open at 10:00 am my dear and even if they will open at 6:00 nobody will come because it's either some are still sleeping and the rest are on their way to the office. It's also cold than normal here in our country but this is no match to the terrible cold given by your winter season.

Hahaha !! I know that my friend. I have never experience going to the grocery store at 6am but I always go to the open market or wet market at early dawn when I was yet in our place but not in the grocery store. Well, in the open market, is is good to be early because the fruits and vegetables are fresh and there are a lot to select from when you come early. I don't know if you had experienced that but I always do. I am not buying vegetables in the grocery store when I was yet in the Philippines. They are too expensive and not fresh. But here now? we have no choice unless we will find time to go to the flea market where there are lots of fresh fruits and vegetables but they are not open everyday. Life in America is different. I still love the Filipino way of life.

wow! that's really early :) actually, that is a good idea since the groceries are now packed during normal hours during the holidays. unfortunately, there are no 24 hour groceries near where i live so the next best thing for me is to go do the shopping as soon as the store opens :)

Well, that is alright, I can do that if I can drive.. hahahah the problem is my hubby is the only one who can drive this time and he has to report to work and we have no more things to cook for food. We have no other time except that early.. Well, it was just an emergency.. because we always go shopping Sunday night.

Hey bebs! We are having the same kind of weather here today
in NY! I am so happy that it isn't cold, but it sure is
raining really hard! And, no I haven't shopped at 6:00am,
but I have shopped at 2:00am and it is wonderful! But, the
only problem is that the meat department is not open so there
isn't much to choose from. Whatever is left after the butchers
go home is all there is and that isn't always alot to choose
from! I haven't done that in years, but it is very nice to
have the store to myself! It's great for me since I'm always
up so late anyway! I much rather do my shopping then since
I hate doing it during the day when the store is packed! Our
Walmart isn't open 24 hours here and it doesn't have a full
grocery store. So I go to Pathmark which is open 24 hours.

I always grocey shop early in the morning. I like to be able to take my time and shop without a crowd. I have never shopped at Walmart, but the store I go to opens up at six. Now because of Day lights savings time, I usually wait until seven when it starts to get light outside. I love going shopping early.

Oh!! good for you. I don't like to go early in the morning. I'd preferred to go late at night like 12 or 11 rather than early morning because I want to stay longer in bed specially during winter time. But it was a nice experience. It did not take us a long time because only very few people were there.
