We have about 600 cds, some of them compulations, some music friends or we made. I have about 50 "back-up" cds with mp3s as well. No longer own any cassettes, or records. How many cds do you own? How many Mp3s? Do you own any records or cassettes?

Hello Utopian Idealist. I have a large bunch of them, but I have never counted the exact number. I bought them years ago, but not since the Internet was available. Now I prefer to listen to music on the Internet while using it. It is cheap and convenient.

I guess it was a lot easier to count with CD books and the cd changer. I have no idea how many we even have anymore, they are everywhere! Now, with programs like spotify, there seems to be no need for them, since most things I look for are on there.

I try to on some of my favorite ones that get worn out. They can get scratched up from nothing sometimes.

Hello UtopianIdealist. I have lots of cds and tapes in the drawers, but they were bought years ago. Now I don't buy them because I love to listen to music online and it is so convenient for the purpose of listening to music due to the Internet.

And with all the playlists and such, it is almost easier than a cd player, as you can load up sometimes an infinate amount of music and not have to change out cds, burn anything, or mess with moving files around to a player.

Well if you consider that many cds range from 10-15 tracks.. that is still about 220+ cds, which is still a lot.
Many people I know only have a few cds. Having a lot makes it more hard. Recently I have noticed about 5 cds that are missing and I have no idea where they are and have been missing for sometime. Borrowed and forgotten or left somewhere, I imagine.
