What was the best piece of advice you ever got?

There was a time when I hated my father's constant repetitions of, "Good enough isn't good enough," and I thought I'd never want to live up to it, just to rebel. I didn't have the nerve to rebel that much, and I learned that I really believe this old idea. I do my best at everythng, or I'm not able to be happy with it.

It wasn't advice exactly, but in Jr. High I made some kind of a remark to somebody that she didn't appreciate. She made a remark something to the effect that no wonder people didn't like me if I talked like that. Made me think about how I approached people after that.

stop betting. but i am sorry to say that i didn't follow it

My father told me once, "Respect yourself and everyone will respect you." I follow it and it does work!
